This Document does not cover the calculation of steel Members supporting the
glazing system.

CODE REFFERED:

1) GLASS – ASTM E 1300 – Determining Load resistance of glass in buildings

2) ALUMINIUM – IS 8147 1976 – Code of Practice for use of Aluminium
alloys in
Structures.
3) STEEL – IS 800 2007 – General construction in Steel – Code of Practice.

3
THE SUPPORT FOR THE MULLION FROM THE STEEL STRUCTURE IS
PROVIDED AT THE ABOVE MENTIONED POSITIONS.
SECTION VIEW
The Mullion is spaced @ 1300mm in every glass joint line…
Hence the Mullion transfer the load in the above locations to steel structure @ every
1300mm spacing.

4
STEEL FRAME LAYOUT – INPUT FROM CLIENT
The Mullion is spaced @ 1300mm in every glass joint line…
Hence the Mullion transfer the load to steel structure @ every 950mm spacing.
