Letter of Motivation

I was born in family of engineers and my biggest inspiration has been my uncle. He has
experience of more than 15 years in Highway Engineering. The same passion for engineering
and question of how things work made me pursue engineering. This attachment grew in holistic
aspects including the technical side that paved my way to opt for B.Sc. in civil engineering in my
undergraduate degree. I currently hold a B.Sc. degree in civil engineering from University of
Gondar. Due to my hard work, I was able to achieve a GPA of 3.4out of a possible 4 during my
studies.
I am writing to convey my genuine interest in pursuing a Master’s in SAFETY ENGINEERING
FOR TRANSPORTATION, LOGISTICS AND PRODUCTION at University of Genoa. I have
always been attracted to transportation, logistic and production as well as the opportunity to
create natural solutions to real-world issues. Safety Engineering For Transportation, Logistics
And Production, with its focus on routing and delivery scheduling, transportation safety,
intelligent transportation systems, modeling of pricing policies for traffic networks, and
manufacturing logistics that forms the backbone of our society, seemed to me a genuine option to
make an influential impact.
When I was in my undergraduate studies, I got many opportunities to work on project that
strengthened my technical skills and exposed me to a vast range of engineering domains. In my
last year of study, I worked on a team that designed a Partial Replacement of sand with
Powdered Glass, a project that required us to apply principles of material analysis, safe
transportation of the powdered glass molds and consider aspects like load capacity and
environmental results. This experience not only enhanced my knowledge of engineering
principles but also taught me the importance of teamwork and problem-solving in a team setting.
Through my graduate program, I developed skills such as the ability to handle pressure and
deadlines, improve my communication, and work effectively with others. In my free time, I
enjoy engaging in hobbies such as reading, writing, swimming, and staying active through fun
activities.
I am confident that a Master's degree in Safety Engineering for Transportation, Logistics and
Production at University of Genoa would provide me with the cutting-edge learning and skills
required to achieve my career goals. The program’s focus on safety and transportation aligns
perfectly with my interests and values, and I believe that the diverse range of courses and
research opportunities offered at University of Genoa would enhance the proficiency and
experience that aids me to become a successful engineer.
In addition to my strong academic background, I am a proactive and self-motivated individual
with excellent problem-solving skills. I am sure that my passion for these cources, combined
with my intense work ethic and determination, would make me a valuable addition to the
program.
