REGION X - NORTHERN MINDANAO
SCHOOLS DIVISION OF MISAMIS ORIENTAL
DON GREGORIO PELAEZ NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
I. Introduction
School Brigade, also known as Brigada Eskwela, is a national volunteer
initiative that works to bridge resource gaps in the Department of Education by
forming alliances with nearby communities. In order to perform classroom repairs,
maintenance tasks, and school cleaning in public elementary and secondary
schools, the program mobilizes and brings together parents, alumni, civic groups,
local businesses, non-governmental organizations, teachers, students, and other
individuals who volunteer their time and skills. Furthermore, an endeavor is
underway to obtain resources, in whatever quantity, from various stakeholders,
organizations, and governmental bodies with the goal of enhancing school facilities
and other aspects of the institution.
II. Objective
This activity aims to achieve the following objectives:
Get the school ready for the forthcoming academic year.
Establish and promote collaboration with all external parties involved.
Create a sense of community by viewing all parties involved as fellow
members.
The policies are stipulated in the DepEd Order 021, s. 2023. The said
guidelines help the teachers in planning and connection with the stakeholders in
preparation for the opening of classes. In this year, the school is planning to achieve
the following projects: classroom and office repairs, purchase of printers and other
school supplies, purchase of medical/hygiene supplies, and school landscaping
project.
Additionally, through the Brigada Eskwela initiative, the school hopes to organize
and unite parents, alumni, civic groups, local businesses, non-governmental
organizations, teachers, students, and volunteers who are willing to donate their
resources for classroom repairs, maintenance work, and other school projects.
IV. Accomplishment
V. Best Practices
Motivating the parent to volunteer for Brigada Eskwela and participate in the
clean-up campaign
Calling parents to let them know about the aforementioned activities and to
remind them to be included.
IV. Issues and Concern
V. Action Taken
The issue was resolved by requesting assistance from outside parties like the
parents and the local government units. In order to guarantee that the teaching and
learning process will continue, teachers also advise using some personal finances.
VII. Recommendation
It would be preferable if the teachers were given access to all the supplies
required to fix the classroom. Furthermore, it would be fantastic if the instructor
received a dedicated budget for classroom renovations and maintenance.
