Test-Teach-Test (TTT)
Let’s start with one of the most basic and widely used teaching methodologies - PPP.
One of the major goals of the PPP is to decrease teacher talking time (TTT) and make
a student-centered classroom. PPP is widely used due to a lot of factors;
Straightforward for starting teachers, has a ‘logical’ approach and provides an easy
format for course book creation.
1. Presentation
Presentation is basically teacher time which involves fair amount of Teacher Talking
Time (TTT), as the teacher explains the concept/material through modules or
demonstrations (or both). In this phase, the teacher introduces required vocabulary,
sentence structures and grammar to the learners.
2. Practice
This step is guided practice, when learners have the opportunity to apply the new
concept/material learned in the presentation phases and progressively include more

information. This is a1 controlled phase, which requires fair amount of 1teacher

assistance.
3. Produce
Production stage or the independent practice stage included free or freer practices
for the students to engage in. Activities which encourages the students to use the
new language through assignments. projects or exercises. This phase has the least
teacher assistance involved.
Engage Study Activate is a bit similar to PPP, but then also has a few elements which
might be missing in other teaching methodologies.
1. Engage
The first step is to engage the students in the lesson/the learning. This can be done
using the ‘hook’ of the lesson plan or simply through an activity to get the students
excited about the lesson.
2. Study
A study is when the teacher introduces the necessary concepts and language to the
learners for the next stage. Again, this might be a more active time for the teacher
than the learner.
3. Activate
The last stage is when the learners do a task (role play, assignment, questionnaire
etc.) themselves. Assistance through teachers might be required for slower learners.
This teaching methodology is excellent when you want to drive a lesson which is
activity based. Alike PPP, Task-Based Learning can be divided into three distinct
phases.Task-Based Learning, unlike PPP, focuses more on learner needs than
focusing on covering the course material.
1. Pre-Task
Teacher introduces the learners to the essential language to carry out the task. How
to do the task is taught by the teachers through demonstrations and presentations.
2. Task
Students perform the task assigned, using their prior knowledge and the new
knowledge gained from the Pre-task. The role of a teacher at this phase is only to
observe and offer minimum guidance to learners.
3. Review
The last stage is reviewing by the teachers. Teachers review the language used during
the task, engage in error correction and reinforce the meaning of the language
taught.
Teat-Teach-Test (TTT)
This method of teaching is most suitable for higher level learners as it includes a lot
of free practices. This method also
is highly unpredictable as the lesson plan can go anyway according to how the
learners respond to the initial task.
1. Test
TTT usually starts with a free task or test, while the learners are monitored by the
teachers. For instance, the teacher could begin asking a simple question like ‘What
do you do after you wake up?’ and ask the learners to discuss the answers.
2. Teach
This is majorly a teacher-focused part of the lesson. Teachers depending upon the
initial task focus on the language that is needed by learners (where the breakdown is
happening). For instance, the teacher might focus on giving a table with target
phrases and give them a demo on how to use them.

The last part is when the teacher again gives the students another task or ask them

I only know the normal teaching method, where teacher teaches in the class and
students listen. But this teaching can be made interesting. Now digital teaching and
learning also has become very common. Teaching should be interesting as well as
understanding to students. Whatever be the teaching style, it should be
understanding to the students. A teacher can be told he or she succeeded in
teaching when their students who was weak in studies started to score well and show
improvement in studies.

1.Lecture method: as the name already says its the oral presentation of the content
by a lecturer. I think it's the most boring and less effective one as students lose their
interest in the middle of the class.
