CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGY 2018

Introduction

WiA Group’s Corporate Affairs Department provides strategic and tactical strategy services that enable
the Company to meet its business and service goals by:

» To Support and encourage an engaged culture that involves participation of everyone in the business
process and recognizes the role every member has in addressing issues and contributing to attaining
Company’s objectives, policy and solutions

»Establishing and building on mutually beneficial, trustworthy relationships with stakeholders

»Enhancing staff ’s capacity to anticipate and respond to issues effectively.

» Enhancing communication within the organization.

In its 2018 the company wants to see a shifting focus, transitioning from a reactive culture function to a
highly strategic and proactive function tied to leading best practices in relationship management.

In 2018 Corporate Affairs department will continue to support the company’s


priorities, the operational communication needs of each business project or
departments, and delivered against the action areas of the Communications Plan.
This work included:
Internal Communications
Objective 1.1 make sure all employees are well-informed of the company’s Mission and vision, core
values, company’s business strategy, goals and objectives, issues and initiatives. Because internal
communications was not deliberately prioritized in 2017, the department now wants to put emphasis as
part of its Communications Plan.

Employee Engagement

The Corporate Affairs department will support the work of the corporation to develop departmental
employee engagement action plans. Corporate Communications will finalize lining the ISO system into
all departments to coordinate all departmental functions into one system. More work on systems will be
done in 2018 by introducing QHSE systems.

Objective 1.1 Increase the percentage of employees who feel well-informed about these management
systems and how they play a role in the overall productivity of the organization.
Issues Management
Objective 3.1 To Improve the company’s ability to anticipate and respond to issues.
The Corporate Communications department s will support the company in the strategic
management of issues to build stakeholder relationships, mitigate unnecessary escalation, and
avoid risk.
The department will work with each team to research, pilot and customize an issues
management framework to suit the company’s culture and processes. Staff then developed and
executed an implementation plan to roll the framework out to the organization.
Implementation included:
»» research and development of how to respond to issues and issues management procedures;
»» customized training to technical and support teams.

Community Engagement
Objective 3.1 Increase participation in public consultation and dialogue.

The Corporate Affairs department will collaborate with Community and Social Groups to
operationalize the Community Engagement and Responsibility. Communications staff continue
to support an engage community by participation in the public endeavors for the benefit of the
society at large.

Stakeholders relationships
Communications policy and framework development
Objective 4.1 Improve the quality of WiA’s key stakeholder relationships.
The Corporate Communications department will: -
»» establish and maintain a favorable Image of the company from its stakeholders
»» Develop a social media framework for the organization. Using web and social media tools,
the company will enhance the organization’s visibility to deliver outstanding services and
strengthen citizen engagement communications
»» Establish a media relations policy.

Corporate Advertising and PR


Objective 4.2 Increase stakeholders’ awareness of Company’s Services and
initiatives.
The department will plan, copy write, design concepts and placed Product/Service adverts and
press releases in 2018. The adverts will be part of the public relations strategy.
