INTRODUCTION

Rainwater harvesting is the collection and storage of rain

water, rather than allowing it to runoff. As we all know
that the rain water is the only source of increasing the
ground water table. This rain water harvesting method is
adopted backside of our college building along with the
permanent drains connected to harvesting pits.

In this project, the development of permanent drains

which are connected to the rain water harvesting pits are
developed with the modern techniques which reduces the
runoff of rain water flowing on the ground. This leads to
the recharge of ground water table.
KEYWORDS

 KACCHA DRAINS

 PERMANENT DRAINS

 RAINWATER HARVESTING PITS

 EARTH PITS

 SEEPAGE PITS
OBJECTIVE

The main objective of this project is to stop the wastage of

rain water flowing on ground, coming from roof top to the
bottom.

By this project, the rain water coming from roof top can be
collected through the permanent drains and sent to the
rainwater harvesting pits to recharge the ground water
table.
WORK PROGRESS
DATE Brief Description of the Daily Activities

Day – 1 Surveying for the Kaccha Drain has been done behind the
building and the measurements are noted down and a rough
sketch is drawn.

Day - 2 Auto CAD modelling has been made by using the

measurements taken by the survey.

Day – 3 Auto CAD modelling has been made by using the

measurements taken by the survey.

Day – 4 Completed the Kaccha Drain design in Auto CAD.

Day – 5 Submitted the Kaccha Drain Design to the Higher

Authorities.

Day –6 By the Suggestions given by the Authorities changes have

been made to the CAD design.

Day-7 Submitted the CAD Design to Authorities on A1 chart.

Day-8 Complete Re-Survey has been done for the Permanent Drain.

Day-9 Survey had been done and the open areas are calculated and
rough sketch of the permanent drain is drawn.

Day-10 Permanent Drain modelling was done in Auto Cad.

The Above is the Drawing of Kaccha Drains drawn in
Auto CAD.
The Above is the Existing Plan of the College Drawn in
Auto CAD.
CONCLUSION

 At the end of this project we can stop the wastage of rain

water by constructing the permanent drains, harvesting
pits.

 This will lead to the increase of the ground water table.
