Objective
WORKPLACE DEVELOPMENT OBJECTIVE
➢ Improve the students’ academic performance in
Mathematics through the use of GeoGebra
applets as instructional tool in concept
formation/development and mastery of
mathematical learning competencies.
➢ Capacitate fellow Mathematics teachers within
the district or division on the basics of GeoGebra
and its uses in creating applets which are useful in
delivering quality instruction in Mathematics.

SITUATIONER
➢ Due to the pandemic which isolated our learners at
home in the past two years, learning gaps widen
among our learners. Pre-requisite skills needed to
learn the learning competencies in the current
year were not yet mastered resulting to a ripple of
learning frustrations. Research also showed that
with their prolonged exposure to gadgets and
social media, their attention span tends to shorten.
SITUATIONER
GeoGebra will be a helpful tool that will help learners
acquire self-constructed understanding of basic
mathematical concepts and mastery of
mathematical skills while actively manipulating
GeoGebra applets under the facilitation and
guidance of the teacher.

➢ Mathematics is a learning area that must provide
opportunities for learners to develop inductive
reasoning. On this note, teachers should adhere to
a constructivist approach in developing
mathematical concepts among learners. During
instruction, a Mathematics teacher must not
immediately present the concept to the learners.
Instead, he/she must provide situations or series of
illustrations from where the learners will draw
conclusions and ultimately discover the concept.
SITUATIONER
However, it is time-consuming for teachers to
prepare the situations or illustrations to be used.
GeoGebra is a powerful dynamic tool which the
teacher could use for their learners to manipulate. A
single applet designed by the teacher could show as
much as much as many situations or a variety of
dynamic illustrations with which the learners would
surely enjoy at the same time discover the concept
the teacher would like to develop.
SITUATIONER
On this note, it is but timely and relevant to
capacitate Mathematics teachers on the use of such
a powerful instructional tool as GeoGebra.

Remarks
REMARKS
➢ The school’s average MPS in Mathematics
increased from 61.50% in the first quarter to 73.81%
in the fourth quarter.
