(a) Explain the meaning of a profession and give two examples.

professionalism?

(d) Professional Engineer (PE) is much respected by peers and instilled high respect from others.
State five responsibilities of PE in society.

(a) Engineering ethics is the field of applied ethics and system of moral principles that apply to
the practice of engineering. The field examines and sets the obligations by engineers to
society, to their clients and to the profession. Write briefly

iii. ACEM Code of Ethics. (5 marks)

(b) Explain the term "Whistleblowing". (9 marks)

(a) The Occupational Safety and Health act of 1994 (OSHA) is appropriate and an adequate basis for
the improvement of the working environment for all employees in Malaysia.
i. List the two main OSH Acts. (4 marks)
ii. Explain briefly these two Acts. (12 marks)

(b) What is the application of OSH Act 1994? (5 marks)

(c) Explain the term 'Inherent Risk'. (4 marks)

(a) Describe " Engineering Design Process". (6 marks)

(b) List nine general approach in Engineering Design Process. (9 marks)
(c)There are various design models which have been developed for designers. Explain "Cyclic
Design Model" and "Spiraling Design Model" by giving an example for each model.

Engineers should possess oral presentation and report writing skills which are important for their
career. Students are required to answer the following questions relating to such skills:

(a) List down six good practices a presenter should adopt in handling questions and answers
session.
(6 marks)
(b) In report writing, what are the steps involved in proper literature search? (7 marks)
(c) In report writing, the readers generally would read the following key areas of the report:
i. Abstract.
ii. Introduction.
iii. Conclusion.

Explain what are the contents expected to be in these three key areas. (12 marks)
