“SALETINO: Pamaskong Handog 2023”

The Christmas spirit was definitely alive and kicking in Barangay Cabulay, Santiago City,
on December 20th, 2023, as the Alay sa Belen was held successfully. It is entitled
"Saletino: Pamaskong Handog 2023", an outreach program. Led by different college
departments, a whole bunch of Salettinians – students, faculty, staff, and the amazing
local residents – came together to celebrate, share, and make some fun activities.

Keeping aside the heat of Grand Paskuhan competitions; this gathering was all about
good vibes and spreading good holiday cheer. The community center of Barangay
Cabulay was buzzed with laughter as the elders and littles got their game on in the
parlor games organized by the Business Education faculty. Other College departments
weren't just cheering on the sidelines, they brought along a whole bunch of gifts and
goodies to shower the Cabulay residents with.

It wasn't just about presents, though. This "Pamaskong Handog" was a whole mission,
driven by the true spirit of kindness and generosity. ULS wanted to extend a helping
hand, striving to fill those Christmas plates and hearts with joy. And let's face it, seeing
those happy faces was a blessing bigger than any fancy feast!

Beyond the fun and games, the "Pamaskong Handog" was a chance for the Salettinians
to showcase and live their values. Sharing, caring, and spreading festive cheer was pure
Salettinians spirituality in action. That's what these outreach programs are all about:
reminding us that we're all connected and that even the simplest gestures can make a
world of difference.

The day ended with heartfelt thanks exchanged between the University and the
Barangay officials. Faculty and students alike felt pride and grateful for the chance to be
a part of something bigger than themselves. In the spirit of "Alay sa Belen," they had
brought some happiness and smiles, and in return, they received a gift far more precious
than any present: the joy of giving and the warmth of community.
