Dear Roald Dahl,

My name is Jessica. I am eight years old and I live in Florida with my

parents and an older brother. My older brother Jack introduced me to
‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. This book has opened my eyes to a
world of make believe and adventure. I am writing to you to express my
appreciation for this great story.

I have found this story to be fascinating and magical. It’s been awhile
since I read such an interesting story about how Charlie won the golden
ticket which he did not expect. I enjoyed the different comical experiences
that the characters went through. The reason I liked this book is that Charlie,
the poor boy was lucky to win the Chocolate Factory. Also, I enjoyed the
book because it had a good message. The message was to spend time with
family, be thankful for what you have and love each other.
4
Your novel has changed my view on many things and I would like to
be a great author like you when I grow up. I can’t wait to read your other
novels. Again, I would just like to express my deepest thanks that you
created this amazing wonder which has changed my life for the better.

Sincerely,

Jessica
