Concept Map
What is a concept map?

A concept map is a graphic tool used to visualize

ideas, images, words, or phrases, and then organize
them in a hierarchical structure.

The goal of the map is to draw connections

and links to show how different concepts are
related

Contain photosynthetic pigments:

Pigments absorbs light

of discrete wavelengths
Light is absorbed when it brings bonds into a more energy rich state:
electron is excited

The energy of photons

must match the difference
between ground state
and excited state

Exited state is unstable

(~ 10-12 seconds)

The energy released by the exited electrons can bet harnessed and used for
photosynthesis
