EXT.OUTSIDE – STREETS – NOON

FADE IN:
ZEPHANIAH and LEEYA ( both 17 y.o), best friends since childhood
shared a walked home together after class while discussing their
plans for college once they completed senior year.

JESS (V.O)
Zephaniah and Leeya had been best friends since Childhood. As
they grew, their friendship grew stronger as well. One day after
class they walked home while discussing about their plans for
College.

ZEPHANIAH
(An idea has come up in Zephaniah’s mind. Since they were near
to completing senior year, they might as well discuss their
plans for college. She looked over at her friend Leeya and
spoke.
Hey Leeya, what are your plans once we graduate? Like what
course are you planning to take? I was thinking I could take
Computer Engineering. Since I’m good with computer and stuff.

LEEYA
(Leeya punders for a few seconds before replying to Zephaniah
about her course choice.)
Hm, maybe I can be brilliant architect. I think I have the
skills to be one and It’s been my dream.

ZEPHANIAH
Yeah, I think you can be a brilliant architect. Oh! Maybe we
could choose the same college together! That way we could still
hang out sometimes.
(Zephaniah beamed with happiness at the idea.)

LEEYA
(Leeya’s eyebrows furrowed, her expression slightly saddens as
she stopped from walking.)
Yeah…

As soon as Leeya ceased moving, so did Zephaniah. Then, she

notices that Leeya’s expression had shifted and turned to see
what was wrong.

ZEPHANIAH
What’s wrong?
 LEEYA
(She gares at Zephaniah with sorrow, her voice had a hint of
grief.)
It’s just that we can’t be in the same college…

ZEPHANIAH
It’s no big deal, we don’t have to be in the same college
together we can still keep in touch.

LEEYA
I know but that’s not the issue. We’re moving away Zephaniah.
It’s about time you should know.
(Her voice was shaky and emotional as she spoke. She fought hard
to restrain her tears, unwilling to give way to her overwhelming
emotion.)

ZEPHANIAH
Are you serious? This must be some sort of joke Leeya!
(She couldn’t belive what she had hear, struggling to accept the
idea of Leeya moving away.)

Once it dawned on Zephaniah that Leeya was serious, she rushed

over to her and wrapped her in a tight hug.

ZEPHANIAH
Promise me we’ll stay in touch no matter what… Okay…?
(She tried her hardest to hold back her tears trying to show
support to Leeya moving away.)

LEEYA
(With a grateful nod, Leeya held Zephaniah in a tight embrace in
return)
I promise…

The days passed by, and the graduation day finally arrived.

DISSOLVE TO:
EXT. OUTSIDE – STREETS - NOON
Leeya and Zaphaniah stood there embracing one and other for the
last time before Leeya left for her to start a new life in
Singapore.

LEEYA
(She pulled away from the embrace and stood there for a moment,
preparing herself to say goodbye)
Well this is it…

ZEPHANIAH
(She pulled away from Leeya with tears on her eyes.)
Yep…
