Narrator: Speech impediment is a communication disorder that is divided in

different types, one example is Dysarthria

(tapat ng bahay sila vera, reiver, yvannah, jawo, jhaneal)

Jawo: HELLO?? Is there anyone home?

labas)

Sophia: G-G-Good morning,,, Y-you caaan come,

Jawo:*nagtataka*
Sophia: Y-yes
(What she really meant was “You can’t come, yet”)
Reiver: THEN THANK YOU FOR HAVING US!
(sinasabi yung characteristics and meaning ng Dysarthia)
Mica: Oh no, you arrived earlier than expected our house is still a mess. Sophia you
should have told them to wait a bit on our terrace till we finished cleaning,
Anyways I’m Sophia’s mom, Can I get you anything?

Reiver: TOILET! A toilet would be good

Mica: Toilet?
Vera: Told you, eating that expired cake won’t improve your immunity (habang
lumalayo si Reiver)

Reiver: SHHH!! (Lumingon)

Narrator: (habang nagtititigan sila) Speech impediment can be passed from
genetics, as many as 50-60% of children who have SLI also have atleast one family
members who struggles with the disorder

Mica: I see you’ve met my husband, he also have a difficulty speaking with others.
What do they call that again?? Sele? Selective mutism was it?

Narrator: Selective mutism is a severe anxiety disorder where a person is unable
to speak in certain social situations, such as with classmates at school or to
relatives they do not see very often. It usually starts during childhood and, if left
untreated, can persist into adulthood.
(tapos inabot yung snacks ng mga bagets)
Jhaneal: Thank you sir! (bow ng konti)
Reden: *Thumbs up*
Jawo: Well then Let’s start our project
Narrator: When a person has speech impediment, They struggle to communicate
with others. Bear in mind, they only struggle to form connections. It doesn’t mean
that they don’t want to.

Vera: Then we have to make a plan first.

(planning)
SOPHIA POV: Should I offer them food or drinks? but what if I mess up when
asking? should I call mother? but she's busy I don't have a choice but to muster up
my courage to speak.
Sophia: u-hm d-do you w-want some f-food-
Joana: hey, why do keep stuttering? you can't even finish a simple sentence at
your age. (sarcastic)
Jhaneal: yeah, or you just want others' sympathy so that they will be kind to you
hmm? (sarcastic)
Vera: stop it we're here to do our project not to make fun of Sophia.
Jhaneal: look that's what I'm saying for (smirk) (sarcastic)
(fade) wala na sila vera jhaneal joa
sophia(nakatunganga)
yvannah: you okay?don't mind what they say.
reiver: yeah it's not your fault.
(comfort)

Narrator: Children with severe speech impairments may not develop normal
communication skills that others will surely make fun of that will lead to
feeling shame, embarrassment, frustration, anger, and depression.
(joa, jhaneal, and vera)
Vera: hey you should apologize to Sophia.
Jhaneal: why? it's that our fault that she can't even talk normally?
Joanna: Exactly, she's old enough to get rid of that simple things duh.
(yvannah, reiver maririnig niyo)
Reiver: huh? didn't you know how much Sophia has to suffer because of that
SIMPLE THINGS you're talking about?
Yvannah: yes, Sophia has to practice many times a simple greeting just to deliver it
normally so that others like you who make fun of her will stop.
Vera: that's what I'm talking about I read that speech disorders can heavily affect
people, especially their mental health some even blame their birth because they
get mocked for that.
(jhaneal joanna tahimik)

(sophia mica reden sa bahay)

(kakatok si yvannah)(bubuksan ni phia)
Yvannah: hey Sophia, someone wants to talk to you.
(papasok na sila vera, joa, jhaneal, reiver)
Joa: Sophia, I'm sorry that I make fun because of how you speak.
Jhaneal: me too I don't know that it affects you so much.
Sophia: i-i i-its o-o-okay
mica: I'm thankful that you understand my daughter's condition just please next
time please let her finish her sentence and please don't say relax or slow down to
her, Please be patient with her. Again thank you.
