Rent or Buy, which is a better option?

In the last couple of years the real state market has been really volatile therefore, taking a decision buying
a house represent a harder choice than 10 year ago. To make a good decision about renting or buying is
important to see all the factors and be aware about which are our life goals in 5, 10 or 25 years. If you are
pretty sure about living in the same city for a long time period, maybe buying is for you, but if you are the
kind of people who enjoy to discovered new places to live maybe is better renting. Another important
question is: are you planning to have a family? If the answer is yes, maybe is a good idea start to thinking
in buy a house for you, your partner and your future kids. To me buy a house is the better option but sadly
right now is a difficult time for new buyers, the prices are so high and the market is not stable, that is why
my husband and I are renting a home but we hope someday to have the opportunity to buy our own house.

Living in downtown or in the suburbs?

Location is one of the most important factors to see when you are looking for rent or buy a house. Both
options has pros and contras; for example, if you live in downtown you are gonna enjoy a good nocturne
life, public transportation, close groceries, etc. But you have to deal with some problems like the noise,
garbage and sometime the cities are more dangerous than the suburbs. By the other hand, living in the
suburbs are really good for family with kids because is safer and really quiet, but you need to have at least
one car becase all places are far away from your home. For me, living in downtown is the best option be-
cause I’m a new driver and I can’t drive alone because I only have the g1, so the public transportation is
esencial for me to go to my work; also I enjoy to living in cities, I don’t have issues with the noise and I
prefer to have everything close at home.
