1. Percentage Saturation (µ) is defined as the ratio of the moisture content (g) to the
saturated moisture content (gs). What is the relationship between µ and relative
humidity (RH)?
Percentage Saturation is the ratio of moisture content of moist air and saturated
air at a given like temperature, and relative humidity is the ratio of the partial
pressure of water vapour of water vapour in moist air and partial pressure at a
certain temperature. This shows the relationship which is that relative humidity
will change according to the temperature, so as the temperature is lowered the
percentage saturation must increase until dew point temperature so that the air
is fully saturated.
2. Using the Psychrometric Chart (Pat = 101.325 kPa), resolve the following problems
(show your procedure in a diagram):
(1) Specific enthalpy (h) and dry-bulb temperature (t) are 70 kJ/kgda and 30 oC
respectively, what is the value of moisture content (g) and dew-point
temperature (tdpt)?

23.5 & 15.5

(2) Dry-bulb temperature (t) is 25 oC. What is the value of RH when wet-bulb
temperature (t’) is 13 oC and 18 oC respectively?
23 & 50

(3) What is the dew-point temperature (tdpt) when the saturated moisture content
(ws) is 14 g/kgda?
19.2

3. Show the state point of the following humid air on the Psychrometric Chart (Pat =
101.325 kPa):
(1) Ws = 12 g/kgda, h = 40 kJ/kgda
(2) t = 10 oC, tdpt = 5 oC
(3) t’ = 15 oC, RH = 40%
(4) h = 50 kJ/kgda, w = 6 g/kgda
(5) v = 0.89 m3/kgda, RH = 30%
(6) w = 18 g/kgda, RH = 20%
(7) w = 18 g/kgda. RH = 30%
(8) t = 35 oC, h = 100 kJ/kgda
(9) RH = 75%, t’ = 26 oC
(10)T = 28 oC, RH = 55%Ch
