Statement of Financial Need 1
Statement of Financial Need 1
I come from a modest background, and my family's financial situation has posed
challenges in pursuing higher education. My parents work hard to make ends meet, and
while they have always emphasized the importance of education, the costs associated
with pursuing a master's degree are substantial and present a significant financial
burden for my family.
One of the main factors contributing to my financial need is the cumulative cost of
tuition, living expenses, and other educational resources. Pursuing a specialized
program like MSc Climate Change and Global Development requires not only tuition
ef
fees but also additional expenses for research materials, fieldwork, and attending
conferences to stay updated on the latest developments in the field. These costs can
quickly accumulate, and without financial assistance, it would be difficult for me to fully
engage in the academic and extracurricular activities essential for a comprehensive
learning experience.

Furthermore, my commitment to environmental sustainability and global development
has led me to engage in unpaid internships and volunteer work to gain relevant
experience. While these experiences have been invaluable for my personal and
professional growth, they have also limited my ability to work part-time and generate
m
income to support my education. Thus, I find myself in a situation where I must choose
between gaining hands-on experience in my field or working to alleviate the financial
burden of my education.

I am also the first person in my family to pursue a master's degree, and while this is a
source of pride, it also means that there is limited financial support available from family
members who may have otherwise assisted with educational expenses. As a result, I
am entirely dependent on scholarships and financial aid to pursue my academic goals.
