(Quarter 4)

I. OBJECTIVES:
1. Identify the prepositions used in a selection.
2 .Interpret the given sentences by showing an action using prepositions.
3. Use prepositions in a sentence.
4. Organize an outline of the given sentences using prepositions.
5. Evaluate the given sentences by finding the illustration using prepositions.
6. Formulate sentences using prepositions.
7. Display cooperation during the class and group activities.
8. Develop the value of cooperation through participation.

II. TOPIC: Using Prepositions in, on, under and above in Sentences.
References K to 12 Grade 4 CG, LM English Grade 4 pages 366-369
Materials : pictures, illustrations, activity sheets, laptop, and powerpoint presentations

III. PROCEDURE
A. Setting of Standards:
(Classroom Management)
1. Sit properly
2. Do not talk to your classmate/seatmate while the discussion is going on.
3.Do not transfer from one seat to another seat.
4. Raise your right hand if you want to answer.
5. Do not answer in chorus.
6.Listen attentively.

B. Phonics Drill:

Singing of the song "Ang Bayan Ko" (MUSIC Integration and Research)

1. Scattered
* She scattered the books on the table.
Ask: What can you say about the books on the table? (The books were scattered on the
table)

* The guava tree yields many fruits.
Ask: What can you say about the guava tree? (It yields many fruits.)
3. Teeming
* The seas are teeming of fishes and other water reources.
Ask: What can you say about the seas? (teeming with fishes and other water eesources)
4. Patronize
* To help our country, we have to patronize our own products.

(Contextualization: Japitanon clearly patrionized your own product because many
Japitanons eat fish as the number one natural resources of Japitan.)

The teacher will present the selection entitled "Pearl of the Orient Seas".

G.Discussion
The teacher let the learners read the selection and will process by raising the
following questions: (AP, MATH, FILIPINO, SCIENCE & ESP Integration)
1. What can you say about our country, Philippines?
2. In what part of the Pacific is the Philippines located? (South Pacific)
3. Our country is composed of how many islands? (7,100 islands)
4. What are the big group of islands in the Philippines? (Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao)
5. How many big group of islands are in the philippines? (Three big group of islands)
6. What is island in Filipino? (Isla)
(Teacher will say: You have learned before that an island is one of the landforms, am I
right?)
7. Can you remember other landforms and waterforms in our country? (yes ma'am)
8. Give me another example of landforms found in our country? (mountains, hills,
valleys)

9. Is it important to conserve our natural resources? (yes ma'am)

In Japitan one of the Natural Resources you have is fish? right?Lots of people depend
their living on selling fish and catching fish. (Contextualization)

Selling fish and catching fish are both okay for women and men, just like in Japitan I
have seen man and woman selling fish on the street. (GAD INTEGRATION)

12. Do you love our country, Philippines? (yes ma'am) There are many people who love
Philippines too. In Philippines we know that lots of people like to visit here. When you
go to cebu city you can see different faces,race, behaviors and so on because
Philippines is a free country.(Indigenous Group)

5. What preposition is used to show where the necklace of pearl is? (on)

9. What preposition is used to tell where the bird is flying? (above)
10. When is the preposition "in" used in the sentence?

or location of a certain thing or object)

G. Generalization
Lead the learners to give the following generalizations by asking:
* What are prepositions? ( Prepositions in, on, under and above show position or
location.)
* What do these prepositions show? ( Prepositions often tell you where something is.)
The teacher will ask the pupils to create an example sentence using prepositions of
place by looking around the classroom. (Learning Environment Involvement)

H. Application
A. Group Activity: (Differentiated Instructions)
1. Group the pupils into 5 working teams and let them work together in doing the
activity.
2. Distribute activity cards to each team.
3. Let them post their output as soon as the group is done.
4. Let a volunteer in each group explain their answers in front of the class.
GROUP I: Filling in the blank.

Write four sentences about the picture using prepositions of positions or location.
GROUP 4: Acting Out (MAPEH Integration)
Act Out: Work with your group. One of you will act out a sentence with a
preposition while the other members of the group will guess the sentence.

GROUP 5: Drawing (Arts Integration)
Illustrate what is stated on the given sentences.

drawing.)
B. The teacher will give rules to follow and rubrics on how they will be graded in
making the group activity. Everyone must cooperate and paticipate. (see
