I. Objectives

- The teacher will ask the pupils on what are the things that should be
considered if the class/discussion is going on.
1. Motivation
-The teacher will introduce her friend Allyza (picture only) to the pupils
and will tell them that it’s her birthday.
-The teacher will tell a short story about sharing slices of Allyza’s
birthday cake to her friends and ask the pupils how much all in all did
she gave and how much is left.
-Then, the teacher will ask the pupils if they have an idea on what topic
that will be discussed.
B. Presentation
- The teacher will present a video about adding and subtracting dissimilar
fractions.
C. Discussion
A puppy weighs 4/5 kilogram. A rabbit weighs 3/4 kilogram. What is the
combined weight of the two pet animals?
Alma has 8/12 bibingka. She shared 5/8 with her classmate. What part of
the bibingka was left?
D. Generalization
- The teacher will ask the meaning of dissimilar fraction.
- Short recap about the steps in adding and subtracting dissimilar fractions.
