Path fit Day 2024
Narrative Report

This year’s celebration of PATHFIT day was held on January 10, 2024 at the
Southern Luzon State University Gymnasium. It was attended by all the freshmen
students here in the Lucban campus. The event was made for the instructor and
students to showcase their abilities in some physical activities, and most
importantly, their teamwork and sportsmanship. The celebration is divided into 3
main events which are the obstacle course, aerobic dance competition, and Mr.
Physique and Ms. Shape. The celebration was led by two gorgeous and sexy hosts
and of course by our fit and strong PE instructors all of them from Institute of
Human Kinetics. To give them the credit, the following instructors are Mr. John
Mark L. Abayari, Prof. Felix O. Bentayen, Mr. Jacob C. Castillo, Prof. Federico
Ceribo (the head of IHK), Prof. Elleard M. Faller, Prof. Victor C. Francia, Mr.
Milpert John B. Maroto, Prof. Rico M. Rosales, Prof. Sonia Abustan, Ms. Rizelle
Marie Alegre, Ms. Michelle C. Campita, Ms. Charlene V. Eusebio, and Ms. Rhizza
Mae C. Loma. The instructors were also helped by the Bachelor of Exercise and
Sports Sciences students to facilitate the event.

The event starts by the doxology followed by the singing of the National
Anthem. To liven up the crowd, a Zumba was conducted which headed by the
instructors. The students are very happy and vibing with each other while dancing.
To formally open the celebration, OIC President Nilo H. Dator gave his opening
remarks which inspires the teachers and students to strive more. After that, Rico
Rosales told the mechanics to every player.

Before 10 o’clock the obstacle course started which end on 12 o’clock which
means it lasted for two hours. Obstacle course was composed of 10 stations that is
made to test the contestant’s physical fitness components such as Strength, agility,
coordination, muscular strength and endurance, coordination, reaction time,
flexibility, balance, and speed. The game is by pair and every pairs have a
corresponding station. In their corresponding station they will do their task then
tapping the hand of next pair until reached the final station and do the caterpillar
walk as a group. In order to wind, you need to be fast and avoid any violations
because the time will the one that will determine which team will be the winner.
Each instructor has their own team which means that 13 groups will fight for the
win. The 1st team to try the obstacle is the team Campita then followed by team
Maroto, Rosales, Francia, Abayari, Ceribo, Faller, Castillo, Abustan, Loma,
Eusebio, Beltayen, and Alegre which is 2nd to 13th respectively.
After the lunchbreak, Aerobic dance begins which 13 teams will compete
and each team composed of 40-60 members. The aerobic dance will test the
teamwork and also the synchronization of the team. The main ingredients to win in
this competition is the cleanliness of the performance, the choreography, and of
course your team’s overall performance. To ensure the students safety, deadly or
dangerous stunts are not allowed. The students are doing their best in their
competition, some teams use headbands, braid their hair, or paint their faces. We
can really say that all participants give their 110% effort and hard work. Every
performance is great, and many are synchronized, fast movements, and clear in
doing their choreography. They really make the crowd gone wild, also the crowd
cheered for their teams and bets. The sequence of each team’s performance is the
same as the sequenced in the obstacle course which started by Team Campita, and
ended in Team Alegre.

When after the aerobic dance ended, Mr. Physique and Ms. Shape start but
before the they enter the stage, to spice the things up and loosen up the crowd, 4 fit
and handsome man and 4 fit and sexy women from Bachelor of Science in
Exercise and Sports Sciences entered first. The crowd gone wild and cheered up
even thought they are not the contestant. They captivated the people and
gymnasium is full of cheered from audiences. After that the candidate enters the
hall, say their names and their instructors. After that they pose and their good body
and nice physique, also their sexy and hourglass shape body. The crowd are
cheering for their bets. In this contest not all teacher has a representative, to be
more specific. only 7 man and 8 women compete for the crown. This contest is
judge by a professional judging panel which also judged the aerobic dance
competition.
Before announcing the winners, the judges received their certificate of
appreciation to show thankful the Institute of Human Kinetics is with them.
Showing how grateful for sparing their time and giving an effort to attend and
judge in the competition.
After a couple of minutes, the awarding and announcing of winners start.
They first announce the winner of obstacle course. In this contest there will be 1
winner and 4 runners-up. The Champion is team Ceribo which has a time of 6
minutes and 20 seconds which is 8 seconds faster than the 1 st runner-up which is
team Rosales with 6 minutes and 28 seconds, followed by team Campita as the 2 nd
runner-up with 6 minutes and 52 seconds. 3 rd runner-up is team Abustan which is 1
second faster than 4th runner-up team Faller, they have a time of 7 minutes and 29
seconds and 7 minutes and 30 seconds respectively. The 6 th to 12th place is team
Castillo, Francia, Beltayen, Abayari, Eusebio, Maroto, Alegre, and Loma,
respectively. The winner goes to stage to receive the award and have the photo-op
with the instructors and judges.

After that they announce the winner of aerobic dance. In 13 teams only 1
team will win and 4 runners-up. The 4 th runner-up is team no.13 – Team Alegre, 3 rd
runner up is team no. 11 – team Eusebio. Team no. 3 or team Rosales is the 3 rd
runner-up while team no. 1 which is team Campita is the 1 st runner up. The team
champion which shows a full energy, and great choreography and performance is
the Team no. 10 which is headed by Ma’am Rhizza Loma. The winner goes to
stage to receive their trophy and award and have the photo-op with the instructors
and judges.

The last but not the least, they announce the winners of Mr Physique and
Ms. Shape. First for Mr. Physique, candidate no. 7 from team Maroto was the 4 th
runner up while candidate no. 3 from team Rico Rosales is the 3 rd runner-up. The
2nd runner-up is candidate no. 8 from team Team Eusebio, and the 1 st runner up is
from team Campita, candidate no. 4. The winner which is the Mr. Physique is
candidate no, 5 from the team Abayari which proudly shows his great body and
nice physique. Next is the winners of Ms. Shape, the 4 th runner up is candidate no.
6 from team Maroto while the 3rd runner up is candidate no. 7 from Federico
Ceribo, 2nd runner up is candidate no. 4 from team Campita, then candidate no. 8
from team Francia is the 1st runner-up. The winner of Miss Shape is from the team
of MS. Charlene Eusebio, candidate no. 9. The runners-up received a sash and the
winner received a crown. After that they have a photo-op with the judges and the
teachers. And that’s how the Pathfit Day 1 started and ended.
