First Term Comments For Butterflies 2023/2024 Session

Foyi is a vivacious and independent child. She is an enthusiastic learner and very expressive of
her feelings. She is kind and enjoys helping out in class. She is adventurous and enjoys trying out
new things. She loves to sing and thoroughly enjoys our rhymes time. She is an active member of
the class and participates during class activities. She is assiduous when faced with difficulty and
does not hesitate to try her best
Her fine motor skills are developing impressively and this reflects in her ability to carry out
activities with some level of independence. Overtime she has started to improve in analytical and
cognitive activities such as memory games, fixing puzzles, matching and sorting pictures.
Her social skills are steadily improving. She thoroughly enjoys interacting with peers and is
speedily learning to share toys with peers. We will continue to work to improve in this area.
Foyi is hands-on and loves to explore the world around her through feeling and touching objects
She is a happy and brave little girl who is excited to learn new things every-day.

Adebare is a modest and brilliant boy. He is learning to be adventurous and try out new things
without fear or reservation. He is usually composed and settled in for daily activities and
participates in class activities with prompting. He is reflective and meditates on things before
responding or taking actions. We would encourage a lot more independence at home and to
build self-motivation to accomplish targets or tasks.
He has a clear analytical mind but struggles with expressing his thoughts while engaged in daily
classroom activities. His communication skills are improving and he is a lot more audible now
when responding verbally.
He is courteous and follows classroom rules. Adebare is a kind and affectionate boy. Way to go
Adebare!! We will be here, cheering you on!

Munachi is a confident and pleasant girl. She is enthusiastic towards class activities, however
she could be strong willed. She is expressive and speedily becoming articulate in her use of
language in daily interaction with peers, however she could get a bit overwhelmed with intricate
verbal instructions.
She is very independent and often prefers to carry out tasks on her own terms which is
sometimes challenging as we try to guild her in acquiring new skills.
All through this term, her fine motor skills continually improved and this showed in her colouring
skills, pouring and pencil grip.
She is courteous, her social skills are impressive and she goes out of her way to make friends.
She has improved in all areas of learning all through this term and we are elated with her
progress.
Munachi is a charming and delightful young girl who brings a lot of positive energy to our
Nursery.
Jesse is a polite and cheery boy. He has a pleasant demeanor always and communicates his
needs pleasantly. It was a bit challenging to settle in to school when he resumed this term,
however he has made great progress and fully integrated into our nursery. He is able to identify
letter names and sounds but requires prompts to sound and match pictures to beginning sound.
He could get a bit overwhelmed with intricate verbal instructions but, gradually developing a
good understanding of language and even follows instruction and make attempts at answering
simply question with simple short sentences. He is chatty and loves to engage his peers
Jesse shows great attention to details on activities, he really likes such as numbering activities,
fixing puzzles and singing, however focuses for short periods on other activities and some-times
gets absorbed with his own thoughts or own activities during class activities. His fine motor skills
are improving and he is gradually learning to trace, maintain proper pencil grip and now feeds
himself confidently. You are a fantastic child Jesse A big well-done!!

Ireoluwa is a vivacious boy. He is adventurous and enjoys trying out new things. He loves to sing
and thoroughly enjoys our rhymes time. He is an active member of the class and participates
actively during class activities, however sometimes he gets absorbed with his own thoughts or
activities during class activities.
His fine motor skills are developing and this is reflected in his ability to carry out activities with
some level of independence. Over time he has started to improve in analytical and cognitive
activities such as memory games, fixing puzzles, matching and sorting pictures.
His social skills are improving steadily and he thoroughly enjoys interacting with peers, however
he is yet to comprehend the concept of sharing. We will continue to work to improve in this area.
Ire particularly enjoys hands-on activities and loves to explore the world around him through
feeling and touching objects
He is a happy and brave little boy who is excited to learn new things every-day. It is heart-
warming to see Ire blossom!!!

Kenzo is an observant boy, he enjoys singing rhymes and engages actively during rhyme
sessions. He really struggled at the start of this term to participate in regular activities and most
times would be feeling sleepy during class work, so we considered moving him back to the
Bumbles class as Butterflies was quite tough for him. It was also a bit challenging for him to
process certain verbal instructions or direction immediately and it took a while before he
responds or grasps the concept. He is gradually developing a good understanding of language
and now follows instructions and make attempts at answering simple question with simple short
sentences. We would continue to work on improving in this area.
He is beginning to enjoy our story-time though focuses for short periods. He enjoys colouring
activities and traces with assistance.
His social skills are improving and we hope to see a lot more integration with peers during social
activities.
Kenzo is amiable, soft spoke and brings a lot of positive energy to our class.
You are a Champ Kenzo!! And have all it takes to be the best!

Osato is soft spoken very expressive and strong willed. He loves adventures and shows resilience
in activities he genuinely likes. His assertive natures shows in the way he is able to communicate
his feelings, thoughts and opinions in a clear and honest manner, he is happy to stand up for
himself while also doing same for close peers without hesitating to throw in a punch in defense
of an ally or peer. He is energetic and fearless, however reserved with unfamiliar faces and takes
his time to warm up to people. Osato appears gentle and calm but could be spontaneous when
the need arises. He requires some prompting to stay on a task at hand and would usually not
show any sense of urgency in finishing up an activity except for cognitive Tasks or Activities
done close to meal times. A delightful and brave child who is excited to learn new things
everyday.

Fatima is a confident and spirited girl, she is very entertaining She has a clear analytical mind,
very articulate and has speedily learnt to verbalise her feelings articulately. She interacts
positively with peers. She is very independent and shown signs of wanting to do things at her
own will, this is an area we are working on. Fatima is spontaneous, however she could be self
distracting
She exhibits a positive outlook and attitude in the classroom. She is always ready for each day's
activities and shows enthusiasm for classroom activities. She is sociable and confident in her
abilities. She can confidently ask adults for assistance when required. Fatima is such a happy and
joyful child, she is witty and hilarious with a charming personality. Way to go Fatima!!! We will be
here cheering you on.

Kamkam is a pleasant and boisterous child. He has settled in to our nursery and made progress
through the term. He is able to color pictures, match some letters to beginning sound, count and
identify numbers with prompts and by pointing at flash cards. His awareness of his environment
is improving particularly with peers and familiar faces and he now makes attempts to get involved
with peers during play time, however he is yet to articulate words to make simple short
sentences while engaged in daily activities. Kamkam requires assistance to carry out some
practical life and sensorial activities; put on his outdoor shoes, recognize and identify personal
items and belongings, initiate interactions and comprehend simple instructions without prompts.
Potty training has been a bit of a challenge as he is yet to give signals, when he needs to use the
potty, however we are hopeful that with continued consolidation and engagement we would see
progress. In the new term we will continue to explore more learning opportunities to achieve
greater milestones. It has been my immense pleasure to work with Kamkam and see him bloom
and make giant strides. I am confident that he would continue to get even better.

Sonma is observant, modest and very considerate of others. She could be cautious in trying out
new things and would rather analyze things thoroughly and come up with logical solutions. She is
an easygoing child, who is reflective and takes her time to observe her environment. She is
sensitive with words and could be selective with friends, she also takes her time to warm up to
people. She is detail oriented and this shows in the amount of time she devotes to each activity
while ensuring that she follows instructions detail by detail. She is self reliant and usually doesn’t
require assistance once she gets the concept of an activity. She is assiduous when faced with
difficulty and does not hesitate to try her best. A delightful young girl. It. Is heartwarming to see
you make giant strides in all areas of learning.

Chibundo Is a spirited and fiercely independent boy. He is adventurous and enjoys doing things
for himself. He is creative and has lots of ideas, if something isn’t working out right, he finds new
ways to bend rules or make new ones to suit his purpose. He tenacious and always willing to try
out difficult tasks. He is fearless, always helpful and co operative in class. We all love his huge
appetite for learning. He is very sensitive and this affects his demeanor the whole day once he
senses that I do not approve of a certain behavior. He is learning to to share and be considerate
of peers when using work materials. He really struggled at the start of this term to participate in
regular activities, so we considered moving him back to the Bumbles class as Butterflies was
quite tough for him. However he speedily picked up and has since shown impressive progress
through the rest of the term.

Toba has grown into a courteous and independent young boy through the term.
He is able to problem solve within his environment using varied resources.
He observes with curiosity and gives full attention on tasks at hand. His curious mind is so
engaging and opens his mind to learn new things as he always returns every new day with new
interesting questions.
He is able to makes straight lines, curves, circles and zeros, some letters and some numbers with
prompts.
He actively engages in class activities and smoothly transitions from one activity to the next.
Toba is very helpful in class and regularly volunteers to assist peers during class activities. He is
a compassionate boy and always ready to show kindness towards peer, however, he could be
emotional and sometimes struggles with receiving disapproval from others during an activity.
Toba displays good social skills when engaged and responds positively to corrections. It was
heartwarming to see him confidently make giant strides through the term.
