1: I'm so bored today, is there anything to talk about?

2: So why don't we try to discuss about the extended family?

1: That’s a great idea. So what do you think about the advantages and disadvantages of living
in an extended family ?

2: I just know that there are many advantage when living in a extended family like economic
responsibility can be shared, with more members in the family, income will increase and
quality of life will be better. Besides that, you can develop our personality when living
together, learn to respect and help others like you do with your family and can improve your
knowledge to become more mature through the experiences of our members.

1: Oh but you have to knew that in the pessimistic side, when all the members live in one
place, it gets very noisy and all activities in the family are conducted collectively. So, it will
hard to have your own personal space that is both quiet and able to do what you want there.
And of course, it doesn't stop there, a more serious thing is because the difference between
generations makes us have more conflicts in the family.

2: So do you know where those conflicts come from?

1: Maybe from misunderstandings each others every day, due to differences in thinking,
often each person will understand it in their own way without knowing that what they are
thinking about at that time is completely wrong and they makes everything more
complicated like a mess and leads to arguments

2: I agree with that. It’s so annoying.

1: Do you have any solution for these problems?

2: Oh I think that they need to change their mindset by looking the problems from many
different sides and learn to listen to others and sympathize with them more. Then maybe,
that problem will be significantly reduced

1: So do you think children are happier when growing up in extended family?

2: I agree. When living with extended family members, young children can develop
relationships with adults other than their parents.

1: And they can also learn more life experiences from many generations to improve their life
skills too.

2: Yeah u’re right. And I think I have a great time when talk about an interesting topic with
you.

1: Me too!
