Legalization of same sex marriage in the Philippines

Same sex marriage is the marriage of two people of the same sex or
gender entered into a civil or religious ceremony. Marriage is a sacred thing
that we need to give importance. The catholic church does not tolerate same
sex marriage because it is written in the bible. Philippines is a catholic
country. Roman Catholic is the leading religion here in the Philippines.
Many citizens do not agree with the legalization of same sex marriage here
in our country. Having same sex marriage here can affect the teaching of the
church. And it is also a sin according to the Lord’s commandments.
Homosexuality is a rising trend here in the Philippines, if we consider
the fact that it is against Filipino culture, morals, and traditions then same
sex marriage should not legalize here in our country. Marriage, better
known as Holy Matrimony is one of the most sacred sacraments that is why
we need to follow what is written in the bible. Same sex marriage is
available in 28 countries around the world. Here in the Philippines it is not
common to see a same sex marriage because we are used to see the woman
marry the man. Homosexuality is considered as a sin according to the Holy
Bible as said in Leviticus 18:22 which says “Thou shalt lie with mankind, as
with woman kind: it is abomination” This would mean that the gay marriage
is an abomination in the eyes of the Lord. Here in the Philippines as well as
in other country the acceptable married partners are a man and woman,
which evokes a traditional family set up.
As a matter of fact, I disagree in legalizing same sex marriage because
obviously it is a sin and it is against to the Lord’s command and word. As a
Christian I cannot disobey what is written in the bible, and disobeying God
is not a good thing to do, though same sex marriage shows respect, equality,
and freedom to love for the LGBT’S. I’m still not in favor when it comes in
same sex marriage.
