SECTION-A
Multiple Choice Type Questions : [5×1=5]
1. Gravitational force is universal force. However, when we stand near a wall, we are not pulled by the wall
because [1]

(1) Wall has large area

(2) The wall is at small distance

(3) Flat surface do not exist gravitation

(4) The gravitational force due to wall is negligible as compared to that of the Earth

Class-IX Fortnightly Subjective Test-7_Science (Code-A)
OR
Gravitational constant (G) depends upon [1]
(1) Size of bodies (2) Mass of bodies
(3) Distance between bodies (4) None of these
2. Assertion (A) : An iron ball and a cork ball of the same radius, released from same height in vacuum will reach
the ground simultaneously
Reason (R) : Acceleration due to gravity is independent of mass [1]
(1) Both A and R are true and R is correct explanation of the A
(2) Both A and R are true but R is not the correct explanation of the A
(3) A is true but R is false
(4) A is false but R is true
Paragraph (Q.3) The molecules of an element are constituted by the same type of atoms. Molecules of many
elements, such as argon (Ar), helium (He) etc. are made up of only one atom of that element. But this is not the
case with most of the non-metals. The number of atoms constituting a molecule is known as its atomicity.
3. The atomicity of ozone is [1]
(1) 1 (2) 2
(3) 3 (4) 0
Paragraph (Q.4 & Q.5) : The manifestations of disease will be different depending on a number of factors. One of
the most obvious factors that determine how we perceive the disease is its duration. Some diseases last for only
very short periods of time whereas some lasts for very long duration.
4. Which of the following diseases lasts for short period of time? [1]
(1) Chronic disease (2) Acute disease
(3) Congenital disease (4) Genetic abnormalities
5. A person is likely to have prolonged general poor health if he is suffering from [1]

7. What are ions? [1]
8. What leads to the formation of ions? [1]
9. What is the second basic principle of prevention of infectious diseases? [1]
10. Give any two effects of chronic diseases on health. [1]

SECTION-B
