Introduction
Eco tourism is a form of tourism involving responsible travel to natural
reserves to conserve the environment and improving the well-being of the
local people. Its purpose may be to educate travelers, to provide funds
for ecological conservation, to benefit from the economic development and
political empowerment of communities, or to promote respect for different
cultures and for rights. A questionnaire was given to random villagers to obtain
information.
Methodology

The data was collected through the use of questionnaire. It was


collected on the 10th of March 2022 at 1:00 hrs. The data was col-
lected at Santa Mission.

CONCLUSION
Santa Mission is a located in Guyana. To arrive at Santa Mission, you will have
to take a boat ride which is about 15-30 minutes, on your way to Santa Mission
you will approach a lot of wildlife features like: Birds, Snakes, Monkeys, jaguars
and many other animals. These are some of the amazing features that
contribute to eco-tourism in Santa Mission.
The physical environment also has a lot to do with the growth of the
community, for example the beautiful lake that is used for canoeing, swimming,
fishing etc. the dock and the changing room located at the front of the creek,
their cultural dances and drinks, the art and crafts, the beautiful rain forests,
and their recreational activities etc.
The development of tourism is also influenced by the residents of this
community because some of the villagers owns shop (where food, drinks etc.
are sold), stores, craft shops (where they showcase and sells their art and
crafts) these are all factors that contribute to eco-tourism in Santa Mission.
