We are so pleased to have you with us for the festive countdown!


Below is what we need to know before starting this Mystery Crochet-Along.

The adventure will begin on December 1st, with new parts released every day
at around 9AM GMT. The last part will be released on December 24th.

It’s up to each individual maker if they want to make all 24 mystery ornaments or
just their favourites - we want this to be a festive and relaxing experience for all, and
an opportunity to get creative and have some fun with the little makes!

What is included in the Mystery CAL? What yarn should I use?

The Amigurumi Advent 2019 includes: The MCAL is designed to work with DK weight cotton
• 24 mystery parts (revealed daily from the 1st to yarn, but like all amigurumi projects it can be made in

• 1 bonus make to start (the Christmas Stocking!)

Bobbles 28 29 30
Make as many as you like in your preferred colours.
To make a bobble:
Ch3, dc3tog into 1st ch, ch1 to close {img 28-33}
Fasten off the yarn, leaving a short yarn tail for
securing the bobble to the stocking. Pull on the
start and end tail a little to tighten up the chains. 31 32 33
Next arrange the bobbles over the stocking in your
preferred pattern. Using a tapestry needle or a
crochet hook pull the yarn tails through to the inside
of the stocking, tie the two ends together to fix the
bobble in place {img 34-37}.

Holly
Make the berries in pink or red, start like
single bobbles: (ch3, dc3tog in first ch) repeat 3
times - 3 bobbles joined together.
Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing.

Make in / green.

Rnd 1: 2slst, (1sc, 1dc, ch2, slst in second ch from

POmPOm 40 41 42
Make as many as you like in your preferred colours.
Follow the instruction on your pompom maker or
use a fork to make small and cute pompoms.
Cut a small piece of yarn and lay it between the 2nd
and 3rd fork prong {img 40}. Wrap the yarn around
the prongs of your fork (centre your wraps in the 43 44 45
middle, leaving space at the bottom and top of the
fork) {img 41}. Cut your yarn and hold the wrap in
place {img42} then tie the yarn-wrap together in a
tight knot {img 43}.
Slip the yarn bundle off the end of your fork, cut the
loops {img 44} and roll the pompom between your
palms to round it out. Finally go around the pom
pom and trim off any uneven ends {img 45}.

Cut a piece of craft pipe cleaner double the length
of the cane {img 2}. Fold it in half, twisting it for
strength {img 3}. Place pipe cleaner into the cane
tube. Pick up all the front loops with a needle and
sew to close {img 4}.

Curve your cane into desired shape.

Alternatively, add a bit of toy stuffing to the tube,


close the end as above, curve into a candy cane
shape by hand and use the yarn tail to secure the
shape by weaving it through the curved rounds {img 6}.

instructions
Star 1 2 3
Make 2 in yellow or red.
Rnd 1: start 5sc in a magic ring [5]
Rnd 2: inc 5 times [10]
Rnd 3: (slst in next st, ch4 {img 1}, skip first ch
from hook, 1sc, 1hdc, 1dc {img 2}, continue working
along round 2, slst in next st {img 3}) repeat 5 times
[5 points] {img 4} 4 5 6

Fasten off the yarn for the first star and weave in
the end. Do not fasten off the second star, place the
stars wrong sides together - we are joining them
together in next round.
Rnd 4: inserting the hook in both layers {img 5},
(1sc between the points, 3sc along the side up to 7 8 9
the tip, 1sc into the tip, 3sc along the other side
down to the base) repeat 3 times {img 6}, work
on the next 2 points inserting the hook only in the
upper star - it creates a pocket between the stars to
insert the tail {img 6-9}
Fasten off leaving a tail for sewing.

Tail
Make in your preferred colour or colours. Ch7.
Row 1: skip the first ch from hook, 6sc along the
ch, turn [6]
Row 2: ch3, skip the first ch from hook, 2sc along
the ch, working in blo, 6sc, turn [8]
Row 3: ch1, working in flo, 8sc, turn [8] Fasten off and weave in ends {img 10}.
Row 4: ch1, working in blo, 8sc, turn [8] Insert the tail between the stars {img 11}, add a bit
Row 5: ch1, working in flo, 6sc, leave remaining of stuffing and sew the last 2 points of the stars
stitches unworked [6] along the edge {img 12}.
