I watched it for the first time some days ago. Disney movies from that period are super comfy for some
reason. I just wish Marian was around a bit in the prison break part of the movie.

It’s definitely a charming adaptation and was my introduction to the character. I think it has a tiny bit of
a bad reputation animation wise for reusing animations but they couldn’t help it as the studio wasn’t in
the finest shape since Walt’s passing and was really only confined to one scene. It also was one of the
biggest hits of the 1973 holiday season (and a top 10 overall) so it proving that people would still go
see a new animated film from them when given the chance and Disney really did need it’s success.

Live action adaptions are on the massive decline, they prefer non-animal adaptions, not a single
update in half a decade or an official announcement
I’d bet they’d make an animated continuation before we see this proposed live action adaption come
to fruition

I really like the voice acting of this movie too. I don't know what it is but there is something that is just
missing from modern dubs.
The soundtrack in Robin Hood was also a bit of a surprise to me, it sounded more modern than what I
was expecting.

It's because most of the actors are Americans using a very distinctive southern country twang. It gives
the movie a very folksy 'down home on the farm' sort of feel, which honestly is more accurate to the
folk tale than a lot of adaptations that try and make it Shakespearean.
The music also is American bluegrass and country, which again is more accurate to a rural mediaeval
English village than is some orchaesteal piece.

Another that didn’t get made was a night on bald mountain film which I honestly would have watched
just to see how they’d tackle the sequence in feature length format, my guess is that the BIG
sequence would’ve been part of the climax with appearances of things like ghosts and mentions and
legends of chernabog throughout the movie and maybe a cult that worships him that plays the other
antagonists the hero has to confront. If done right it could be a excellent dark fantasy flick
