UNQUESTIONABLE (tentative)

Scene 1
(The scene opens on a Christian and happy home, the husband drives into his
compound after a fruitful day at work and ready to share a great news to his
pregnant wife)
Exterior scene Mr Johnson’s house
Gateman: (he opens the gate, then helps his boss in opening of the car door as
well and helps with his suitcase)
Mr Johnson: how are you doing
Gateman: fine oga mi sir ( they both walked inside)
Scene 2:
Interior scene Mr Johnson’s house
Mrs Johnson : My love ,( holding her waist) welcome ,hope you didn’t have a
stressful day
Mr Johnson: Not at all, ( kisses his wife’s belly) how’s baba doing in there? And
hope the pain isn’t much today
Mrs Johnson: Not that much , he just kicked now hearing your voice ( they both
burst into laughter)
Mr Johnson: very sensitive boy , my love I have good news for you.
Mrs Johnson : ( readjusted her position) and what’s that?
Mr Johnson: Just guess
Mrs Johnson: you know am not good at guessing, or are you traveling for a
seminar?
Mr Johnson: traveling for a seminar is never a good news with this your condition,
okay let me give you the gist, ( brings out a letter from his bag) I just got
promoted at my work place .
Mrs Johnson: this is indeed a good news , congratulations my love , more of this
in Jesus name, promotion upon promotion ,
Mr Johnson: Amen !!!
Mrs Johnson: this calls for celebration o,
Mr Johnson: yes oo, (goes to the freezer to get a chilled juice) wait of pemisire
Mrs Johnson: she dozed off as soon as she finished her assignments, should I
wake her up?
Mr Johnson: don’t bother yourself, (they both took their cups up to celebrate)
cheers to greater things.
(Gives his wife a forehead kiss , carries his suitcase and leaves to his bedroom)

Scene 3
Mrs Johnson starts to feels uncomfortable and she wakes her husband up from
sleep , Mr Johnson assists her up and both get prepared to leave for the
hospital. While all these were going on ( no words were altered, just music
sounds going slowly)

Office scene - Day

Secretary: Good morning sir,

Mr Johnson: ( dressed in a black suit , black shoe, white shirt and a red tie) Good
morning my amiable secretary, how was your night?
Secretary: splendid sir and yours?
Mr Johnson: we give God the glory
Secretary: sir, the general manager would love to see you before you settle down
for work.
Mr Johnson: hope there is no problem?
Secretary: honestly, I have no clue as to why he wants to see you, he only came in
and said , please inform Johnson to see me immediately he resumes for work.
Mr Johnson: So can I go in now or there’s someone inside with him
Secretary: yes you can
Scene 6
General Manager’s office
( A knock on the door)
GM: yes , come in please.
Mr Johnson: Good morning sir,
GM: Good morning my brother, hope you are doing fine
Mr Johnson: I’m good sir, l learnt you wanted to see me sir
GM: oh that’s correct, I have this letter from the board for you.
Mr Johnson: ( he collects the letter and opens it right in the presence of the
general manager , his hands visibly shaky) sir, this is termination of appointment
letter, what have I done sir? Why (stuttering) sir? I was not even queried to have
done anything wrong. So why the sudden decision to render me jobless?
GM: well, as you know, I’m just a General manager. This kind of decisions are
taken at board level. No doubt you have been outstandingly hardworking since
you joined us . Infact , you work ebulliently without expecting rewards
Mr Johnson: if you have honestly noticed all these as you just said it. What do you
think was responsible for this cruel decision? At this junction, you ought not to
have black blood within and then spit out white. ( Crying already) and you know
what I’m going through recently with my wife.
GM: Johnson my brother
Mr Johnson: yes sir (sweating profusely).
GM: sit down and let me have brotherly discussion with you. I think you need to
be prayerful and delve inward in order to exhume the truth of the matter. Like I
mentioned earlier, you’re a very hard working young man but I think something is
wrong somewhere because we hardly got results of your hardwork. The more you
work, the less the results. Just within 2 months of your promotion as site
engineer, we have recorded more networking failure and we have lost more of
our customers to other network providers. I’m sure you must have noticed these
things yourself.
Mr Johnson: ( sighed heavily as he leaves the front of the GM looking sober)
GM : Johnson, Johnson ( he refuses to answer) I just wish you the best in life.
God will see you through this.
Scene 7
( After losing his job , Mr Johnson went straight to the hospital to check up on
his wife)
Hospital entrance( front desk)
Nurse: the doctor said you should see he whenever you arrive here
Mr Johnson: hope all is well, ( rushes to the doctor’s office)
Scene 8
Doctor’s office
Doctor: Mr Johnson, please have your seat,
Mr Johnson: doctor, what’s happening, as I was about to enter , one of the nurses
said you wanted to see me
Doctor: absolutely, Mr Johnson, have been your doctor even before you got
married
Mr Johnson: why are you saying that now? Just tell what’s happening
Doctor: we tried reaching you this morning, but your number wasn’t going
through
Mr Johnson: just go straight to what you intend to tell me, just hope my wife is
fine
Doctor: Mr Johnson, we tried out best but I’m sorry to inform you that, we lost
her and the baby
Mr Johnson: lost who, never, that’s not possible. ( Rushes out of the doctor’s
office and goes to the ward where his wife was laid)
Mr Johnson: holding his Wife’s body and crying at the same time. God why me?
( An emotional song plays behind)
Scene 9
Sitting room
( Mr Johnson’s friend, Adeyinka came to sympathize with Mr Johnson and to
introduce him to some other ways)
Adeyinka: Johnson!!! I doubt if you ever had any rest since losing your job and
your wife with the unborn child the same day. Will thinking and sobbing solve the
problem or give you another job or bring your wife back? Cutting the aching head
is not the cure to headache. When a door closes , another one opens .
Mr Johnson: ( having a sober reaction) today makes it 2weeks that I got fired at
my place of work and lost my wife with the unborn child , I was having a happy
home about 3months ago , only to be left with my pemisire, my wife is gone just
like , I’m left with no job. Is it that I have offended someone or is this a test of my
faith?
Adeyinka: ore , this cannot be a test of your faith, you must have offended
someone. Try and think about it thoroughly.
Mr Johnson: Adeyinka, you know the kind of person that I am, I don’t think
there’s anyone that I have offended.
Adeyinka: here we go again, Mr righteous. Look, I’m set to go now. Maybe when I
come back, we would take a look at the whole situation. But honestly I don’t want
to talk about all these since you don’t really want to accept maybe you offended
someone or not, because all these things cannot be happening to you . Or should I
take you to my own baba for better solution.
Mr Johnson: which baba? You told me you don’t have parents, so which baba are
you referring to?
Adeyinka: I’m not talking about my father . I mean my spiritual father, my
specialist, an herbalist, I’m very sure he would be of help
Mr Johnson: herba .. what? God forbid . I have one who is greater than the baba
you are talking about. I was not brought up to serve any mammon. According to
Matthew 6:24
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the
other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God
and mammon.
Adeyinka: oh , spare me , as a true friend, your happiness should be one of my
obligations, what is wrong visiting an herbalist?
Mr Johnson: you know what, have lost so much, I can’t afford to lose my soul.
( Mr Johnson stood up and showed Adeyinka the exit door )
Scene 10
Bedroom
( After sending Adeyinka out of his house, Mr Johnson goes to the front of his
bedroom mirror to take some affirmation)
Mr Johnson Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall
tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or
sword?
As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as
sheep for the slaughter.
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor
powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from
the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

( crying profusely till the scene fades away)

Scene 11
At Mr Johnson’s sitting room
( The pastor came to visit Mr Johnson and rekindle his faith)
Pastor: 1 peter 5:10 said But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his
eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you
perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle [you]. Mr Johnson, this is the promise of God
for your life
Mr Johnson: pastor I’m just tired of the whole issue, my faith is shaking, the
whole issue has now turned me to a laughing stock, is God really for me? If he
is ,why then is he watching me go through all these things?
Pastor: God is for you, there are several examples in the bible who also went
through their moments of trials but became triumphant, this time will surely pass,
and you would become triumphant as well. Brother Johnson, you shouldn’t let all
these affect your services to God, I learnt that you stopped attending the zonal
rally and it’s been a while I saw you in church. It shouldn’t be so .
Mr Johnson: pastor I just wanted to be left alone , that’s why
Pastor : Romans 8 :35 says Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall
tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or
sword? Let nothing separate you from God, who you now be going to zonal rally
tomorrow?
Mr Johnson: pastor , I will try to attend sir,
Pastor : if that’s the case , I will give you number of the new member who would
be joining you in your zone soon . And he is looking for a new apartment as well ,
you can help him check around and get back to me.
Mr Johnson: Alright pastor. I will definitely be on the lookout
(Pastor and Mr Johnson keeps discussing until the scene fades out)
Scene 12
( Mr Ajani and Mr Johnson checking the new apartment)
Mr Johnson: this is the apartment, I’m sure you love what you are seeing already?
Mr Ajani : yes I do ( checking around the rooms) but it seems everywhere seems
rough and dirty, there will be a lot to repair too.
Mr Johnson: that’s true
Mr Ajani: can we get someone around here who can help with the cleaning.
Mr Johnson: Mr Ajani, don’t worry I will help you with the cleaning and as a
matter of fact , I can call on some members of our zonal rally to assist . But it’s
something I can definitely do on my own .
Scene 13:
At Mr Johnson’s apartment - exterior

(Mr Johnson and his daughter pemisire discussing, Mr Ajani meets them on
their discussion)
Mr Johnson: pemisire, you just have to understand me, I don’t have any job for
now, and I don’t have any source of income, that’s just the best option for us
now
Pemisire: daddy, I can’t change my school oo, if I change my school, I won’t see
Deborah, temi, precious and every of my friends again and even my teacher ,
aunty shade again. Me I won’t stop to my school ooo (crying)
Mr Johnson: my baby , (rubbing her head) don’t cry , okay, you know what ? We
won’t change your school.
Pemisire: okay daddy. Daddy, where is my mummy, when is she coming back?
Mr Johnson: soon, ( Mr Johnson sees Mr Ajani coming from afar)
Pemisire : I want to see my mummy.( She’s sad)
Mr Ajani: why is she sad.
Mr Johnson: pemisire, go inside and want television, I will be joining you soon.
(Pemisire l leaves , both Mr Johnson and Mr Ajani starts discussing)
Mr Ajani: Mr Johnson, thank you very much, the apartment looks so different
from how it was the last time I came to check, you have really done a good job
( he tries to hand over an envelope to Mr Johnson but Mr Johnson refuses)
Mr Johnson: Mr Ajani , I didn’t help you in order to be paid, I did my own for God
and because you are now a member of our zone
Mr Ajani: really? If that’s the case I so much appreciate that kind gesture, before I
forget, is that not your daughter?
Mr Johnson: that’s my daughter, her name is pemisire
Mr Ajani: she is supposed to be school by now, why is she not in school?
Mr Johnson : it’s just because I can’t afford to pay for the school fee anymore, I’m
having the plan on changing her school or even be teaching her myself from home
before things get back in place ,
Mr Ajani: do you know what, I will want you and I to go and chill somewhere
tomorrow and discuss some certain things.
Scene 14
A cool and silent environment
Mr Ajani: Mr Johnson, I brought you here to do something crucial, and if I don’t
that I won’t have a peaceful mind
Mr Johnson: what’s that Mr Ajani, you are getting scared with your words
Mr Ajani: you know what ? I actually own one of the biggest construction
company in Nigeria, but I’m a very low-key person and the reason why I came to
this city is to handle a multi millionaire naira project, which is an estate. The
apartment I was looking for is one i would be staying during the duration of the
project with the other team members but as from now, you would be the one to
represent me on this project ( handling a file to him) which means everything
that’s meant to be a share for me on this project will be yours,
Mr Johnson: ( look dumbfounded) sir I’m short of words , wake me up from this
dream
Mr Ajani: let me shock you, after the completion of this project, you should be
going be going home with money in about 8figures . Congratulations Mr Johnson
Mr Johnson: kabiosi olorun, you’re really the unquestionable God. (He stands up
and began to dance)
