Question: If you were to advise the President of the Philippines on how to improve the

lives of Filipino people, which is your priority you would tell him and why? (Based your
topic on the basic economic problems)

ANSWER:
Basic economic problems that challenge the country are easy to determine but
difficult to solve. These have been the challenges experienced by the past that may or
may not have given a remedy but remain unsolved. Nonetheless, if I were to advise the
president of the Philippines, the problem that I want to highlight among these problems
is the topic of poverty and unequal distribution of income.
Over the years, if not decades, the issues about corruption have been an
unending matter which result to suffering of the poor, higher crime rates, and unfinished
or low standard government projects. Ironically, the government officials, who were
expected to address and resolve national issues, are often linked to unethical and
dishonest act of taking the funds of the government and use them for personal
purposes. Regarding that, the very first step to develop the economics of the Philippines
is by having the government as the best example of a transparent and sound
organization—one that will not take advantage of money of the people. The government
officials must be obligated to disclose all his earnings to prove that he is clear because it
is right of the people to know where their money go. I believe that if only the funds of the
country have been divided in a just manner, with absolute transparency and
accountability from the officials of the government, it would have reached the lowest of
people that will eventually allow the whole nation to transpire.
At the length, this economic problem will only be solved if every Filipino cares to
our country. It pains us to admit, but not knowing what’s happening to our country
equates on being enabler of corruption. In fact, this topic is highly relevant nowadays.
We should scrutinize and follow the leaders who have genuine goal for the common
good of all. Above all, if we want to have more developed country and economy, then
we should vote wisely.
