TASK 3 : SIMPLE NUTS AND BOLTS

Step 0: enable the “3D modelling mode”

nut
Step1: select polygon command

Step 2: enter sides 6 in the command bar

Step 3: make a hexagon of radius 20 mm

Step 4: join a horizontal line which is diagonal in the hexagon

Step 5: make two circles with centre same as hexagon of radius 10 and 20 mm

Step 6: convert into isometric view

Step 7: select extrude and the inner circle and hexagon and press enter and make height upto 20 mm

Step 8: convert from 2D to realistic view

Step 9: using subtract remove the inner part of the bolt

Step 10: now extrude the outer circle upto 20 mm

Step 11: select fillet -> multiple -> radius (enter 3mm)->enter

Step 12: select two opposite corners of the structure and pree enter to get the fillet

Step 13: select solid intersect object->select the middle part and the rest and press enter

Step 14: now the shape of bolt is ready , now to form threads

Step 15: type helix command and make the threads inside the bolt having diameter 10 top radius 10
number of turns 20 and height 20

Step 16: make a circle of 0.5 mm then select sweep now select the helix and press enter

Step 17: select subtract then select outer body and then then the helical path then press enter

Step 18: now using “union” merge them to get the bolt

Bolt
Step19: select polygon command

Step 20: enter sides 6 in the command bar

Step 21: make a hexagon of radius 20 mm

Step 22: join a horizontal line which is diagonal in the hexagon

Step 23: make two circles with centre same as hexagon of radius 10 and 20 mm

Step 24: convert into isometric view

Step 25: select extrude and the outer circle and hexagon and press enter and make height upto 20
mm

Step 26: select fillet -> multiple -> radius (enter 3mm)->enter

Step 27: select two opposite corners of the structure and press enter to get the fillet

Step 28: select solid intersect object->slect the middle part and the rest and press enter

Step 29: now using extrude make the inner circle extrude to 60 mm

Step 30: now as done in bolts use helix make outer threads of the nut

Step 31: usng intersect the bottom part of the nuts and press enter and then using “union make the
nut into single object”

Step 32: now use move command and move the bolt and match their centers and attach them

Step 33: now the nut and bolt are obtained

Step 34: The end
