Spur gears are used to this effect in washing
machines, blenders, clothes dryers, construction
equipment, fuel pumps and mills. In power stations,
so-called 'trains' of spur gears are used to convert a
form of energy, such as wind or hydroelectric power,
into electrical energy.

 Methodology-
* Spur Gear: Draw a circle of diameter 18 mm,
draw another circle of radius 21.31 mm , for arc of
radius 27.9 mm draw a circle of radius 27.9 mm then
take a reference line from centre to the outer circle
and draw a line of 1 mm from point of circumference
of circle with radius27.9 mm then draw another line
from point on circumference of circle with 21.31 mm
and then make an arc of 9.9 mm radius from ends
point of 2 mm line and 1 mm line then make a mirror
copy of that arc and the select those two arc and
select polar array and make 18 dublicate copy of that
tooth then from presspull command make its
thickness of 20 mm and then view in realistic view.
* Rim: Draw a circle of diameter 220 mm then draw
another circle of diameter 200mm then draw another
small circle of diameter 40mm for crankshaft and then take
a reference line from the centre and draw line from a point
inside of outer circle of 9.5 mm and then draw a fillet of
8mm radius and from that point draw another line in
downward direction of 8mm and then draw the line of
40mm in downward direction from the point of
intersection of line of reference and then join the endpoint
of fillet and line of 40mm then take a mirror command and
make another symmetrical image of that arc on another
side of reference line.
Then select that polar array and copy that design and
make its 8 duplicate copies then change the view from top
to SW isometric and then give press pull command and
make thickness of 7mm and move it 18mm about the
centre and then give presspull command to the outer circle
and make its thickness 50 mm then change its view from
2D wireframe to realistic view
 Outcome
*Spur Gear: The spur gear is the least expensive

of all gears to manufacture and is the most commonly

used. It can be manufactured to close tolerances and is
used to connect parallel shafts that rotate in opposite
directions. It gives excellent results at moderate
peripheral speeds and the tooth load produces no axial
thrust.
