Thickness
The minimum required thickness for any component that retains pressure(excluding allowable corrosion) is 1.59 mm (0.0625 in), in
accordance with UG-16 previsions.
For the case of vertical cilindrical vessels, the hydrostatic pressure (PH) of the design fluid shall be added to the design
pressure.
If the specific weight of the design fluid is less than the specific weight of water, the specific weight of water shall be
used to calculate the design fluid hydrostatic test. If the specific weight of the design fluid is greather than the specific
weight of water, the specific weight of the design fluid shall be used to calculate the hydrostatic pressure.
P = PD + PH
H1 = 2,246 mm Height for hydrostatic pressure calculation one feet over the union of low head with the first course.
H2 = 722 mm Height for hydrostatic pressure calculation one feet over the union of first course with the second course.
rF = 0.88 * rH2O
rF = 0.00088 kg/cm^3 < rH2O
rF = rH2O for design
rF = 0.00100 kg/cm^3
The thickness required (tc) to handle the longitudinal stress arising due to the design pressure (PD) and the hidrostatic
pressure (PH), is giving for:
H PH P tc Concepto tc com.

The thickness required (tc) to handle the hoop stress arising due to the design pressure (PD) and the hidrostatic pressure
(PH), is giving for:
R = D / 2
R = 600 mm
MAWP
The MAWP for the longitudinal stress (MAWPl), for the allowable thickness:
MAWPl = ( S * E * t) / ( R + 0.6 * t)
tc = 6.00 mm
The MAWP for the hoop stress (MAWPc), for the allowable thickness:
MAWPc = ( 2 * S * E * t) / ( R - 0.4 * t)
The shell MAWPs is the smallest value between the MAWPc y MAWPl:

Perimeter = π * (D + 2 * tc)

"A" factor, from ASME BPVC, Section II, Part D, Subpart 3, Figure "G"
A = 0.0001
In accordance with the figure HA-2 of ASME BPVC, Section II, Part D, Subpart 3,"A" factor is at the left of the applicable
temperature-line, the MAWP is:
Pa = 0.0597 MPa < 0.34 MPa The pressure is less than the design pressure, stiffening rings
shall provided.
Pa = (4 * B)/ (3 * D0 / t)
Pa = 0.4000 MPa > 0.34 MPa The assumed thickness of shell used wth four stiffening rings, is
satisfactory.
