I. LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
a. identify the units of temperature and the formula of converting Celsius to Fahrenheit and vice versa,
b. perform and solve problems in converting Celsius to Fahrenheit and vice versa; and
c. apply the conversion through real world scenarios.

°C = 5/9 x ( °F – 32). °C = 5/9 x ( °F – 32).
°C = 5/9 x ( 77– 32) °C = 5/9 x ( 45– 32)
°C = 5/9 x ( 45 ) °C = 5/9 x (13 )
°C = 5 x 5 °C = 65/9
°C =25 °C = 7.22
CELSIUS TO FAHRENHEIT
EXAMPLES:
45°C to °F 28°C to °F
°F = (9/5 x °C) + 32 °F = (9/5 x °C) + 32
°F= (9/5 x 45) + 32 °F= (9/5 x 28) + 32
°F= ( 8)8 + 32 °F = 252/5 + 32
°F= 81 + 32 °F= 50.4 + 32
°F= 113 °F= 82.4 °F
Example 2.0
Maragusan has a Tropical rainforest climate. The district’s yearly temperature I
is .55ºC. What is the yearly temperature Maragusan in degree Fahrenheit ?
°F= 229.95/5 + 32
°F= 45.99 + 32
°F= 77.99
APPLICATION
Direction: Teacher will give each group a scenario to answer. Each group must have 1 representatives to
answer it to the board. The group who’s answer is correct will have an extra point in the activity.
SCENARIO 1
Ma’am Creizyl feels like there is something bad going on with her body. She
realized that the weather yesterday was both rainy and sunny at the same time.
She looks for the thermometer and found out that it is 100.4 °F. Is teacher Creizyl
sick or not? Provide a brief explanation.
SCENARIO 2:
Emily determined to make the perfect fluffy pancakes for breakfast. She found a
recipe that suggests cooking the pancakes at a specific temperature in 190 °C.
However, Emily is more comfortable working with Fahrenheit temperatures. What
°F temperature will Emily set to ensure her pancakes turn out right ?
