Dear Colleague,

We are happy to announce the launch of our in-house challenge for IB(Syndication Dept, ECM, DCM,
Debt Restructuring Dept, All IB Branches etc), IE (Sales) and Research teams called BIC 2020.

The key objectives of this challenge are to:

 Provide a platform to staff to develop their skills /knowledge in areas of Sector specific
Research and further enhance their Analytical Skills, Business Development and Presentation
Skills
 Help members become Subject Matter Experts and Influencers in the chosen area within the
Organization
 Develop a Sector Wise Specialization Inventory for the Organization for the purpose of Business
Acquisition and Development.
 Build a database of minimum 25 Industrial BI papers which can be used for business
development by all teams
 The Experts on conclusion of this challenge will get an opportunity to be part of key Business
Mandates of the Organization

BIC 2020 Timelines

 Launch of BIC 2020 - on 14th April 20, receipt of registrations/participation applications by 15th
April 20
 Review of Applications and allocation of Sectors to BIC Participants from 16th – 17th April 20
 Start of BIC 2020 from 20th April 2020.
 Duration for doing research, gathering Business Intelligence and preparing a preliminary
Report : 20th April – 10th May 2020
 Finalization of Report under the guidance of Mentors : 11th May – 15th May 20
 Project Presentation to the Panel comprising of Senior Management from the Company, few
Industry Experts and other staff from 18th May -19th May 2020

 Post Presentation, the BIC Report will be finely evaluated by our esteemed panel of Judges and
BIC Committee from 20th May – 23nd May 20
 Winners of the BIC Challenge will be declared on 26th May 2020

Guidelines for participation and criteria for Research Report

 All staff from IB(Syndication Dept, ECM, DCM, Debt Restructuring Dept, All IB Branches etc), IE
(Sales) and Research teams from Senior Executive to SVPs can participate in the BIC Challenge.

 The participant has to select a specific Industry Sector. The list of Sectors that can be chosen for
BIC is enclosed in Annexure A .

 Please select 3 sectors from the list, stating your preference as 1, 2, 3 for the sectors chosen by
you.

 On review of all participations received, we will allocate a sector for BI related research to you
based on your interest, Organization requirements and number of participations received.

 To develop the Research paper, you can seek the guidance from our in-house Mentors and
other industry experts

 You may meet 2 or important critical persons either in person or through zoom from the
industry to get the sector perspective and further you may please seek the help of Senior
Management for getting industry connects if required.

 You can utilize existing subscriptions like CRISIL, India ratings, databases like NSE, BSE, Prime
Database, VC Circle etc. Further, we can subscribe for additional resources if required.

 The BI Report has to fulfill minimum defined Research Criteria, templates enclosed in
Annexures B & C. Each sector will have its own nuances, dynamics, specifications which will
need to be added to the Report apart from the minimum defined criteria

The Sector specific BI report submitted by you has to be holistic and should provide for brief
background of the sector /industry, Sector SWOT Analysis, Sector dynamics and global
perspective of the sector, major players in the sector , target companies and peer companies,
financial, operating and valuation ratios of the targeted companies, specific business
opportunities in the companies targeted in the sector, references/connections/ links to
Crisil/india ratings for further study along with your recommendations .

Model Reports attached for reference. These are indicative reports; you may feel free to add your
own creativity to make it more Sectors specific and impactful

 The BIC Report needs to be completed within the defined timelines and needs to give due
credit/acknowledgement to all resources used and quote the references of research material
used.

 A team of Mentors/Experts will be available to help you fine tune your preliminary BIC paper
and presentation

 The Final Report submitted by you will become Company’s proprietary resource and will be
added to Company’s Knowledge Database and will be used for multi-purpose as deemed
appropriate by the Organization.

 The decision of BIC Committee and Judges will be final & binding

First Prize Winner will receive :

 Gold Plaque Acknowledgement

 Certificate of Par Excellence signed by our MD & CEO
 Rs. 50000 cash prize
 Club Mahindra holiday with family (+ Rs 25000 as reimbursement of expenses related to Club
Mahindra Holiday)
 Coverage in our in-house Hall of Fame publication on Intranet
 Opportunity to be part of the Sector specific Business Mandate of the Organization

Second Prize Winner will receive :

 Silver Plaque Acknowledgement

 Certificate of Par Excellence signed by our MD & CEO
 Rs. 25000 cash prize
 Club Mahindra holiday with family (+ Rs 15000 as reimbursement of expenses related to Club
Mahindra Holiday)
 Coverage in our in-house Hall of Fame publication on Intranet
 Opportunity to be part of the Sector specific Business Mandate of the Organization

The Management along with BIC Committee at its discretion may decide to give additional Special
Acknowledgments to other participants who come up with good reports, unique perspectives and
recommendations but are not the winners of the contest.
