for their wretched existence.
Ol’ Patton, Pats, or General Pats, is a kind, older fellow who installed
a dual tread unit to replace his legs. A military campaigner from back
in the days when a career in the military meant something. That is, until
the day he had his legs brutally shot out from underneath him. Always
e
practically minded, he opted for treads instead of wheels. Even turned
down fancy robotic legs on account of their horrendous cost.
These days, he spends his time keeping his military surplus shop in
business. Barely, that is. Regulars can purchase some special inventory
fil
that Pats [just might] have squirreled away. Contraband weapons, illegal
tech, the usual stuff. Just don’t expect him to install the hardware.
He’s a vet, not a doctor!
While ol’ Pats is generally a peaceable soul, if you do somehow manage
to piss him off, you will find that he is called Patton for more rea-
sons than just his tank tread method of locomotion. Pats has a variety
of hidden weaponry that includes a 90mm caliber tank gun, stowed away in
a casement on his well-muscled back. It turns you into a greasy-crimson,
e
smoking hole in the wall in half a second flat. So, your best bet is to
follow the simple advice written on a rusted sign above the counter:
“Saying please is free. Being a smartass will cost you extra.”
