The Origin of Blue Lake Water

In ancient times in the Galela area, North Halmahera, there was a

hamlet called Lisawa. The hamlet is relatively calm and the air is rare. Because
almost the entire area consists of rocks.

In this hamlet there is a young man named Magohiduru and a girl

named Majojaru. They are a very loyal couple. Actually, Magohiduuru wanted
to propose to Majojaru, but he did not dare convey his intentions. Because, he
realizes that it is already difficult to support himself, especially if he has a
family. Realizing his condition, Magohiduuru decided to go abroad. With the
hope that after success, he will propose to Majojaru. This intention was
conveyed to his parents and he received their blessing. He immediately met
Majojaru. Magohiduuru tells Majojaru that he will go wander outside of the
village for their future and will propose to Majojaru afterward. He asked
Majojaru to wait for him. For a moment Majojaru was surprised, she was afraid
that something bad would happen to her lover. But in the end, Majojaru
agreed to Magohiduru's plan. The next day the two of them separated,
Majojaru still had heavy feelings about letting go of her lover, and so did
Magohiduru. However, Magohiduuru was determined to migrate.

After a year abroad, Magohiduuru has not yet returned home. Majojaru
started to get restless. One day, Majojaru wandered to the pier where
Magohiduuru had left his hometown. She saw a ship from far away and hoping
that one of the passengers would be Magohiduru. But there was nothing,
Magohiduuru's figure was not among the passengers. Majojaru asked one of
the crew about Magohiduru's whereabouts. Hearing the crew's answer,
Majojaru gasped in surprise. It turned out that Magohiduuru had died a
month ago due to an accident while working. Sad and weak, Majojaru
returned to her village. On the way, she took shelter under a tree to calm her
heart. On a rock, Majojaru laments the fate that befell her lover. she cried
uncontrollably, without realizing it, her tears welled up until they drowned the
support where she was sitting. Majojaru drowned and died. To commemorate
this event, local residents gave it the name Telaga Biru, because the water is
clear like blue tears.
