Two Friends and A Rock

Upon that earth that had been worn by flood and scorched by sun,
unusual, came the greenest of new flora, how it formed a blanket of
sincere wishes, a hint of the gaiety of bloom to come in the surreal
forest.

On a fine day, Two friends decided to go for a walk. Caught up in their

conversation, they lost track of time, and had come too far from home.
There was a mysterious dense forest in a little distance. They decided to
head to the forest, hoping to get something to eat as they were hungry.
As the two friends continued to move inside, they realized that the
forest was becoming more dense. They wanted to go back, but it was
too late, both of them lost their way in that forest. There was no way
they could see to get out.
A few steps further, restlessness and fear were visible on both their
faces. They walked carefully to avoid walking into a bog and the spiked
thorns. The fear of being attacked by a wild animal, or of being bitten
by a snake, increased as the day turned into night. They were scared
and tired.
Suddenly, they saw a small path that led to a dark, mysterious place.
Seeing the way, they found no bounds in their joy. They thought finally
they were going to come out of the forest. After going a little further
down a path, they saw a rock blocking their way in front of them. Days
spent but no one could move the rock out of the way.
Tired, they sat down and began to think about how to get out of the
forest. "Be sincere in your wishes and it will be granted" was inscribed
on the rock that blocked their way.
One of the friends said, "You stay on one side of the rock and I on the
other side and we will make our wishes to the rock."
"Let's see, whose wish is accepted," he said. "And they both reached
different corners of the rock.
They haven't eaten anything for two days. Starving in hunger and thirst,
a friend asked the rock to give him something to eat. Just then, his eyes
turned to the tree in front of him. He was sure that the tree had not
been there before.
The tree was loaded with fruit. As soon as the rock accepted his wishes,
he ran to the tree and ate the fruit. He didn't even remember his
partner when he was eating. After his stomach full of delicious fruit he
asked for water to drink, he heard a waterfall that appeared at a
distance where he drank pure water.
A few days went by while eating and drinking, and then he thought why
not ask the rock for a hut to spend the night. He ran back to the rock
and asked for a hut, just after he saw a hut by the waterfall, he was
thrilled and began to thank the rock. Seeing that every wish was
granted to him, the idea of taking this news to his partner never
crossed his mind.
He wished to the rock the next day to help him get out of the forest.
Just then, he saw a little girl passing by on an elephant. He was
delighted to see that girl riding on an elephant. He ran to the girl asking
her to help him get out of the forest. The girl smiled and asked him to
sit on her elephant, saying that this elephant would take you out of the
forest.
The girl was about to leave, but then she asked him, "Will you not
accompany your friend who is on the other side of the rock?" he
remembered his partner as soon as he heard this. But he said proudly:
"My wishes have been granted by the rock because my wishes are
sincere. I wished, so I got the result. If my partner didn't wish sincerely,
how can he get the result?"
Hearing that, the girl broke into tears and said,
"Actually you are getting the fruit of your friend's wish, not yours."
Denying this, he said, "How can this happen?"
"What wishes did he offer that I am getting the result of? "
the girl told him very patiently that your partner used to wish only one
thing to the rock. When asked, the girl repeated the wish of his friend:
" Oh rock! Please listen to my friend's wishes and offer him your
blessings."
The man broke in tears and ran to the other side of the rock. He saw his
friend there, who had become weak due to starvation. Seeing that his
pride got soaked in guilt, he bowed his head down to his feet and asked
for his forgiveness.
To forgive or not to forgive was his friend's decision, but we must
remember that we can make a lot of friends, but real friends are
identified only in times of crisis.
