ENGLISH UNIT 3 – ROCK ‘N ROLL SHOW

 Vocabulary
1. Spotlight = a light with a single, very bright beam that can be directed at a particular place
or person, especially a performer on the stage
2. Bodyguard = a person or a group of people who are employed to protect somebody
3. Fans= person who admires somebody/something or enjoys watching or listening to
somebody/something very much
4. Electric guitar = a guitar that requires external amplification in order to be heard
5. Bass guitar = an electric guitar that plays very low notes
6. Backing singers =singers who provide vocal harmony with the lead vocalist
7. Dancer = a person who dances or whose job is dancing
8. Drum kit= a set of drums
9. Stage= a raised area, usually in a theatre, etc. where actors, dancers, etc. perform

 Structure
1. “Going to”
“Going to” => is used to show planned decision
Subject + is/are + going to + verb 1

She + is going to I + am going to


He + is going to They + are going to
It + is going to We + are going to
You + are going to
Ex:
I am going to do my homework this afternoon
She is going to see the BTS show next month
What are we going to do next week?

8.10 = it’s ten past eight
11.20 = it’s twenty past eleven
10.45 = it’s quarter to eleven
10.15 = it’s quarter past ten
10:30 = it’s half past ten
8.35 = it’s twenty five to nine
8:50 = it’s ten to nine
8.10 = it’s ten past eight
9.00 = it’s nine o’clock

10.20 = it’s twenty past ten


10.40 = it’s twenty to eleven
2.05 = it’s five past two
2.55 = it’s five to three

2.15 = it’s quarter past two


2.45 = it’s quarter to three
4.25 = it’s twenty five past four
4.35 = it’s twenty five to five
4.55 = it’s five to five

2.05 = it’s five past two


2.10 = ten past two
3.20 = it’s twenty past three
3.40 = it’s twenty to four
3.45 = it’s quarter to four
3.50 = it’s ten to four
3.15 = it’s quarter past three
5.15 = it’s quarter past five
5.45 = it’s quarter to six
