The budget officer shall take charge of the budget office and shall:
Assist the mayor, as the case may be, in the preparation of the budget
and during budget hearings;
Exercise such other powers and perform such other duties and
functions as may be prescribed by law or ordinance.
An employee in this position typically performs a high volume of repetitive transactions and daily system maintenance
as well as trains entry-level budget personnel and clerical assistants. This person would assist senior-level budget
personnel with review of budget requests, processing of amendments, and budget development.
Performs detailed work in assisting in the prepartion of and review of personnel and budget amendments.
May train, supervise, and resolve issues for entry-level Budget Assistants as well as clerical assistants engaged in
budget activities.
Graduation from a standard high school (GED). Some bookkeeping experience, preferred.
Some knowledge of accounting principles and practices, statistical analytical procedures, and general university
programs, practices, and procedures.
