II. Descriptive Title: Principles of Agricultural Entrepreneurship and Marketing
III. Credit: 3 units (3 hours per week)
Prerequisite:
Course Description: Definitions, how can farmers be entrepreneurs, entrepreneurial traits, entrepreneurs vs. manager, entrepreneur vs. entrepreneur, the
entrepreneurial decision process, role of entrepreneurship in economic development, ethics and social responsibility of entrepreneurs, Woman as
entrepreneur, agricultural marketing.

Objectives
a. Produce quality graduates who will contribute to the advancement of their chosen field;
b. Conduct viable researches, develop and disseminate technologies, and provide technical assistance to the community for an increased production;
c. Offer courses that are responsive to the needs of the community and industries for national development;
d. Promote self-employment and entrepreneurship;
e. Strengthen opportunities for student scholarships and access to quality education;
f. Promote faculty and staff development;
g. Strengthen and develop linkages with other agencies or institutions to achieve both in the national and international levels; and
h. Improve facilities and structures that will efficiently and effectively carry out quality instruction, research and development, extension and
production.

VI. GOAS ( BSA Program):


The BSA Program aims to educate students habits of thought and entrepreneurial skills and prepare the graduates to become globally competitive
professionals with entry-level competencies in technical agriculture. It emphasizes the process and techniques of identifying , diagnosing and analyzing
problems in designing, packaging, and applying technologies needs in the development and conservation of agriculture and food system resources.
The BSA Program aims to enhance scientific, technological and entrepreneurial learning that is relevant and responsive to the development of grad-
uated who will become competent professionals and leaders in the field of agriculture.

VII. Program Objectives:


1. Produce globally competitive graduates in the field of agriculture.
2. Provide trainings and experiences in the field of research, extension, and production.
3. Inculcate core life values through integration of the skills and attitudes to continually uplift/enhance professionalism.

VIII. Program Outcomes of the BSA Program:


The BSA Program aims to enhance scientific, technological and entrepreneurial learning that is relevant and responsive to the development of
graduates who will become competent professionals and leaders in the field of agriculture.
a. Articulate and discuss latest developments in the specific field of practice;
b. Effectively communicate orally and in writing;
c. Work effectively and independently in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams;
d. Act in recognition of professional, social and ethical responsibility;
e. Preserve and promote “Filipino historical and cultural heritage” (RA 7722);
f. Create, generate and share knowledge as it applies to specific problems in the discipline;
g. Formulate sustainable and productive agricultural development plans;
h. Apply scientific method in the conduct of research activities;

i. Understand and apply the concepts of agricultural productivity and sustainability in the context of national, regional and global
development;
j. Engage in agricultural production and post production activities;

The Bachelor of Science in Agriculture aims to enhance scientific, technological and entrepreneurial learning that is relevant and responsive to the
development of graduates who will become competent professionals and leader on the field of agriculture. At the end of the semester, the students must
have:

b. Identified different objective of entrepreneur
c. Explained features of agricultural marketing
d. Discussed the role of marketing in agribusiness
e. Identified the objective, types and principles of marketing
f. Explained the main content of marketing plan and marketing strategies for entrepreneurs
