As per Railway Board's letier No. 2020/Sig/1/Procurement dt. 27.07.2022:

The manda tory requirement to procure Signalling & Telecom itemsthrough

stores issued vide letters referred above has been 'reviewed by the Board in reference to
representations received from various zonal railways for signaling projects.
It has now been decided th£t in order to fast track projects, S&T material c¡n
be procured in works contract a So, through open & competitive bìdding. For the purpose,
ZonalRailways should frame m alittes with the approval of PcSTE."
Earlier vide letter under ref 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6, IPS, LED signals, ables, Axle Counte rs
(MSDAC, SSDAC) and UFSBl are to be procured through stores. Now as per letter mentioned
under ref- (1), procurement policy has been modified in order to fast track projects, S&T
material can be procured in workscontracts also.
