The sensory system is a system that transmits stimuli from receptors to the center of the

brain. This system is part of the nervous system that receives stimulation from the
internal and external environment. The sensory system channels information to the part
of the brain that is responsible for processing information through stimuli.
This sensory system includes 8 senses including sight (visual), touch (tactile), smell
(olfactory), hearing (audiotory), taste (gustatory), balance (vestibular), proprioception,
and interoception.
1. The first sense, sight or the eye, is a sensory organ found in humans which
constantly adjusts to the amount of incoming light, focuses attention on near and
far objects and produces images that are transmitted to the brain. The main
function of the eye is as a sense of sight. The eyes are generally used to see
distant and near objects or see conditions around them. There are layers of
muscle, cornea, iris, pupil, lens, sclera, choroid, retina.
2. The sense of touch on the skin functions so that humans can feel pressure, touch,
temperature, pain and vibration. All abilities possessed by the sense of touch will
be received by receptors or cells and organs which function to respond to external
stimuli and will be sent to the sensory nerves.
3. Sense of smell or nose Apart from being the main respiratory organ, the nose also
plays a main function in the body's sense of smell. In this process of smelling, the
nose will be connected to the brain via the cranial nerve and will generate and
create memories of the smell of something.
4. Sense of hearing Apart from hearing voices or sounds, another function of the ear
is balance. Balance is achieved through a combination of sensory organs in the
inner ear, visual input, and information received from receptors in the body,
especially around the joints.
5. The tongue is one of the body's senses in humans, the tongue has papillae as a
means of taste. It is used to taste food and drink, apart from that, the tongue is
also able to directly taste everything that is put into the mouth. various tastes such
as sweet, bitter, sour and salty.
6. The ear's sense of balance is also a place of balance. "The inner ear has a very
important function in hearing and body balance. This part consists of the cochlea,
semicircular canals and vestibule with different functions." The part that regulates
balance.
7. Proprioception is about your body's position in space, while interoception is
about how the body feels, interoceptors interact with a region of the brain – the
insula – which plays an important role in our sense of self.
