ACTIVITY WORKSHEET 3
REFLECTION:
As a student, why is learning about basic anatomy important? What do you think are the
advantages of having anatomical knowledge in movements, exercises and injuries?

To know about the structure and function of the human body can help individuals make
informed decisions about their own health and well-being. Also for better understanding bodily
function and how both structure and function are modified by several diseases. However, the
advantages of having anatomical knowledge in movements, exercises and injuries are by
knowing how the body really works, selecting different kinds of exercises that target your goal
muscles. It can also improve and enhance joint mobility and stability, and improve movement
quality and efficiency. Anatomy knowledge also allows you to modify exercises according to
your individual needs, preferences, and limitations, and to progress or regress them as you
improve or face challenges. Anatomical knowledge helps humans to learn several ways of
training and exercises avoiding injuries. It makes a person have a better understanding and
comprehension of how the human body works and anticipate making movements that can injure
limbs.

Sports, Bones, Muscles & Movements:

Name of Sport: Volleyball
1. Skill No. 1: Serving
— The latissimus dorsi muscles for balance and posture. The biceps, triceps, and
deltoids are all used. The wrists "catch" the ball to keep it in control. The arm muscles
help to push the ball up and out, the faster the arms are moved the faster the ball is
pushed.
— Spike jump movements involve the movement of the center of mass,
countermovement, approach phase, and angular amplitudes of the lower limbs. Serve
reception movements require both foot and arm movements, with foot movement
initiated with respect to time from the serve and arm movement initiated with respect to
time until contact with the ball .
2. Skill No. 2: Blocking
— The hamstring muscles extend the hip and flex the knee. Extending the hip is a
crucial part of how you jump high. Although the glutes will have more impact on your
hip extension than your hamstring. The knee flexion caused by the hamstring will help
you bend your legs before jumping as well as to get low for a dig. Blocking is a very
complex and lateral movement that is done by players.
