INSTRUCTIONS

1. Read aloud or sound out each word that is written in the

“Pool of Words.”

2. Look for the meaning of each word.

3. Write your own sentences using each word.

Note: Only one example sentence in each word is needed.

3. Introduction

Many forms of correspondence are available for us to explore depending on the

purpose of the sender. (Barrot, 2016). There are three most common forms of
correspondence which are letters, memos, and electronic mail or e-mail. These are the
documents that you will most probably encounter in the workplace, and in school. Thus,
it is imperative for you to learn how to write them effectively and comprehensively.
By the end of this lesson, you are expected to acquire new and skillful skills that
you can apply in other areas of study.
3. Lesson Proper

The teacher will let the learners read and understand the lesson WRITING
PROFESSIONAL CORRESPONDENCE (APPLICATION LETTERS, RESUME,
MEMORANDUM, BUSINESS LETTERS, AND E-MAIL) of their textbook. After
reading the assigned topics, they will then proceed to the next tasks, as part of their work
to be accomplished for this week.

C. Application (Mastery of Learning)

LET’S COLLABORATE AND THINK CRITICALLY

Instructions: Form a triad. Read the sample application letter on pages 152-153.
Improve necessary.

VI. Valuing
“Diligence is a good thing, but taking things easy is much more restful.” (Mark
Twain)
How could you apply this wisdom based on your writing journey for this week?
What was that like and what was the outcome?

VII. Closure of the Lesson

When sending your application and resume, be sure that they are free from
grammatical errors. Remember, your letter, specifically, is your first contact with your
employer. Any mistake will have a negative impression on you. Be sure to impress your
employer by submitting a carefully written, free from error application letter and a
resume.

- The teacher will ask the learners if they have any questions and
clarifications about the topic that was discussed.
- The teacher will call random students to ask questions from the lesson.
- Ask one question about the lesson, for clarification.
