HRMT 5120 (P10) Assignment 3: HR Staffing Announcement

This assignment aims to develop an understanding of effective HR staffing announcements. It

involves a new hire announcement for Walmart Canada aligned with the brand voice, the

audience and uses a fitting channel of communication.

Situational Analysis

Walmart Canada is a leading retail organization operating in the Canadian market. Walmart

Canada is renowned for having a sizable staff, with many workers spread out throughout its

corporate headquarters and retail locations. Walmart Canada supports a diverse and inclusive

workplace by appreciating the contributions of people from all backgrounds and viewpoints.

Teamwork, client service, and ongoing progress are prioritized by the business. With

possibilities for growth and progress inside the company, employee development and career

advancement are also significant components of Walmart Canada's human resources strategy.

The company's human resources policies and practices are centered on fostering a welcoming

The new hire announcement will be for the appointment of Mr. Desmond Goh as the Operations

Assistant Manager position in the Vancouver-based Walmart store.

I am pleased to announce that Desmond Goh has accepted the position of Operations Assistant

Manager, effective June 29, 2023. This position reports to Mr. Josh Will.

Desmond will be responsible for supporting the store manager, optimizing store conditions,

executing safety controls, and maintaining compliance with Walmart policies and procedures.

Desmond graduated from Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Surrey, British Columbia with a

degree in Business Administration. Prior to accepting this position, he/she served as an

administrative assistant and Store manager. Desmond brings experience and a proven track

record of success in management, which will be invaluable in meeting departmental goals and

objectives.

I am confident that Desmond will be an excellent match for this position and a strong asset to the
