After receiving reports regarding cases of acute kidney failure which increased sharply in Indonesia at the
end of August 2022, the Ministry of Health took a number of steps to analyze the cause. Minister Budi Gunadi
Sadikin said the results of the investigation showed that the syrup containing ethylene glycol was the cause.
So how can the compounds in the drug cause acute kidney failure? Budi explained that ethylene glycol or
ethylene glycol (EG), diethylene glycol or diethylene glycol (DEG), and ethylene glycol butyl ether or ethylene
glycol butyl ether (EGBE) which act as solvents and are contained in a number of medicinal syrups to make
crystals in the children's kidneys.
Of the three chemical compounds, this once again proves that what actually happened was that the cause of
death of these children was the presence of these crystals in their kidneys which spoiled their symptoms
because they were sharp. These three dangerous compounds were discovered after the government conducted
toxicology tests. The results EG, DEG, and EGBE were found in more than 70 percent of children with kidney
failure.
Toxicology tests show that more than 70% of children who are sick are confirmed to have actually three
dangerous chemical compounds that are proven to be in the blood or urine of children.
From the results of the investigation, Budi said these three compounds were dangerous if consumed above
the threshold because if they entered the body they would be metabolized or processed by the body. After
processing, dehydrogenase alcohol will appear to become oxalic acid; this acid turns into sharp crystals and
damages the kidneys. These results were verified after the Minister of Health performed a biopsy on a child
suffering from acute kidney failure.

Etiquettes of Your Dua
How often do you want to make heartfelt dua, yet struggle to covey your words to Allah? Or, even when
making a general dua, do you feel like you are lost for words? Well, we’ve put together a step-by-step guide
on how you can make your duas more effective.
Etiquettes of your dua:
1. Start off with salawat on the prophet saw (Allahummasalli…)
The Prophet (saw) said, “Every dua is kept back until you send blessings upon the Prophet.”

6. Have faith that your dua will be accepted and Allah will respond one way or another
Ibn al-Jawzi (rh) said. “I think part of the test is when a believer supplicates and receives no response, and he
repeats the dua for a long time and sees no sign of a response. He should realize that this is a test and needs
patience.”
7. Ask frequently – don’t lose hope. Remember, Allah’s kingdom is vast, so do not restrict yourself when
asking Him for something.

The United Nations predicts Earth will have to feed another 2.3 billion people by 2050, mostly concentrated in
urban centers far from farmland. Conventional agriculture may not be able to meet that demand, but luckily
NASA has been working for decades to tackle food production both on Earth and in space. Feeding astronauts
during long-term space exploration means stretching resources to grow plants in space—including minimizing
water use and energy consumption and eliminating soil.

NASA initially pioneered these techniques on the ground by building the country’s first vertical farm. Inside a
decommissioned hypobaric chamber left over from testing the Mercury space capsule, technologists stacked
rows of hydroponic trays like bookshelves against the walls. Then systems for lighting, ventilation, and
circulating water were added using off-the-shelf parts. Various crops were planted on the stacked trays to test
how well they would grow in water and without the benefit of sunlight or open air. This innovative approach to
farming created a foundation for the industry of controlled environment agriculture, or CEA.

CEA combines plant science and environmental control to optimize plant growth and maximize efficiency,
frequently incorporating vertical growth structures. Technology enables the filtering of contaminants from crop
water and delivers precise nutrient balances. Artificial lighting provides only the necessary wavelengths at the
right time, intensity, and duration, while environmental controls maintain ideal temperature and humidity. This
approach could help feed burgeoning future generations, said Nate Storey, chief science officer at Plenty
Unlimited, one of several companies building on NASA’s plant-growth research.

Television was once the newest technology in our homes, and then came videos and computers. Today’s
children are growing up in a rapidly changing digital age that is far different from their parents. A variety of
technologies are all around us in our homes, offices, and schools. When used wisely, technology and media can
support learning children’s relationships both with adults and their peers.
Based on some evidence by research, there has never been a more important time to apply principles of
development and learning when considering the use of cutting-edge technologies and new media as the so-
called interactive media. Interactive media refers to digital and analog materials, including software programs,
applications (apps), some children’s television programming, e-books, the Internet, and other forms of content
designed to facilitate active and creative use by young children and to encourage social engagement with other
children and adults.
When the integration of technology and interactive media in early childhood programs is built upon
solid developmental foundations, and early childhood professionals are aware of both the challenges and the
opportunities, educators are positioned to improve program quality by intentionally leveraging the potential of
technology and media for the benefit of every child.
This statement provides guidance for early childhood educators about the use of technology and interactive
media in ways that can optimize opportunities for young children’s development. In this statement, the
definition of technology tools encompasses a broad range of digital devices such as computers, tablets, multi-
touch screens, interactive whiteboards, mobile devices, cameras, audio recorders, electronic toys, games, e-
book readers, and older analog devices still being used such as tape recorders, record and cassette players,
projectors, and microscopes.
By appropriately and intentionally using the technology of his day—broadcast television—to connect with
each individual child and with parents and families, it demonstrated the positive potential of using technology
and media in ways that are grounded in principles of child development.

The sense of taste is one of a person’s five senses. We taste with the help of taste-buds in the tongue. There are four
main kinds of taste: sweet, sour, salty, and bitter. All other tastes are just mixtures of two or more of these main types.
The surface of the tongue has more than fifteen thousand taste-buds (or cells). These are connected to the brain by
special nerves which send the so-called ‘tastes messages. When the tongue comes into contact with food of any kind, the
taste-buds will pick up the taste. The nerves then send a message to the brain. This will make us aware of the taste. All
this happens in just a few seconds.
There are four kinds of taste-buds, each of which is sensitive to only a particular taste. These four groups are located
in different parts of the tongue. The taste-buds for salty and sweet tastes are found round the tip of the tongue and along
its sides. Sour tastes can be picked up only at the sides of the tongue. The taste-buds of the bitter taste are found at the
innermost edge of the tongue. There are taste-buds at the center of the tongue.
The senses of smell and sight can affect taste. The good smell of food increases its taste. Similarly, attractive colors
can make food appear tastier and more delicious. If food does not smell good or is dull-colored, it will look tasty and may
not taste good at all. Very hot or cold sensations can make the taste-buds insensitive. Food that is too hot or too cold,
when placed in the mouth, will have no tastes at all.
