Naga College Foundation’s school cafeteria offers a variety of menus

to students. Despite the large population of students in NCF the
school cafeteria’s size is not enough to accommodate all. There are
many students who buy their snacks and lunch from the cafeteria and
it is not enough to accommodate all of us students that cause
overcrowding which can be threatening to students’ safety. No line is
also present when buying and everything is messy. But despite it all
the cleaners of the cafeteria are doing their best to maintain the
cleanliness of the place which I appreciate. Because of them the
cafeteria is clean and because of the organization of garbage which
separates bottles from biodegradable and non biodegradable the
students can help the school cleaners. It also helps the student to
be responsible.
The school cafeteria doesn't offer soft drinks and junk food to
students which I first noticed when I evaluated the foods that are
offered at the cafeteria. It helps the student to lessen their intake
of foods that can affect their health. They offer vegetables,
protein, and even fruits. The only thing that they often offer are
fish dishes, maybe because they are not time-friendly to students who
only have an hour break for lunch. But then the cafeteria can still
offer boneless fish because they contain nutrients that are also
important for our body. Fish is filled with omega-3 fatty acids and
vitamins such as D and B2 (riboflavin). Fish is rich in calcium and
phosphorus and a great source of minerals, such as iron, zinc,
iodine, magnesium, and potassium. It is a low-fat high quality
protein that must be offered for students. The quality of the food
they offer is also different depending on the stall. My favorite
stall is the fifth stall from the Francia gate because they offer a
variety of foods unlike the other stalls. They have snacks, lunch,
and even necessities such as napkins, band aid, and even OTC
medicines. Nutrition is very important to students, as sanitation.
Research has shown that students are able to learn better when
they're well nourished, and eating healthy meals has been linked to
higher grades, better memory and alertness, and faster information
processing. Sanitation is also important to minimize the risk of
foodborne illnesses by making the working environment of food
handlers free from food safety hazards.
