ICT BASED INNOVATION FRAMEWORK
(Updated as of January 14, 2024)
Project Name: Etech ICT-Based Innovation Project

Project Duration: September 1, 2023 to January 30, 2024

Project Proponent: Rodrigo Boquiron – Etech STEM Teacher

RATIONALE:

The ICT-Based Innovation Initiative is an effort to empower students and educators by implementing an ICT-

based Innovation Framework Empowerment Technologies (ETech) subjects. This initiative will provide students with

the opportunity to lead and participate in the exploration, conceptualization, development, and implementation of ICT

innovations projects. These activities are expected to enhance their learning experiences and foster a culture of

innovation and collaboration, as we seek to improve student engagement, learning outcomes, and overall educational

quality.

This project is aligned with the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs) which requires students to

demonstrate an understanding of the use of advanced tools and techniques found in common productivity and software

applications in developing ICT content for specific professional tracks.

The framework had undergone some updated which stems from the BERF action research, integrating

modifications and updates to the original structure. These changes address opportunities identified during

implementation, tailored to the nuances of project participants.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES:

• Enhance Learning: To enhance the quality of education by integrating innovative ICT solutions into the

learning process.

• Foster Innovation: To foster a culture of innovation among students and educators.

• Improve Engagement: To increase student engagement and participation in the learning process.

• Measure Impact: To measure the impact of ICT-based innovations on student learning outcomes.

PROJECT SCOPE

The project will encompass the following key components:

• Development of an ICT-based Innovation Framework tailored for our school setting and needs.

• Engagement of students in the innovation process, from Exploration to implementation.

• Prototyping and development of selected ICT innovations.

• Integration of ICT innovations based on the Performance Standard stated in MELC of the subject.

• User training and support for effective implementation of the Innovation projects of the students.

EVALUATION AND MEASUREMENT

• Regular assessment of student engagement, performance, and learning outcomes.

• Periodic project reviews and adjustments based on evaluation results.

• Measurement of the innovation's impact on achieving project objectives.

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

We will actively engage with students, educators, parents, and relevant stakeholders throughout the project,

soliciting their feedback and ensuring their active participation in the innovation process.

PROJECT RISKS

• Technical challenges in the development of ICT innovations.

• Resistance to change among teachers and students.

• Adoption of Innovation projects for implementation

ICT- BASED INNOVATION FRAMEWORK
This ICT-Based Innovation Framework is a student-centered
process which shall run for two quarters. The framework follows
a four-phase innovation approach: exploration, conceptualization,
development and testing, implementation and scaling. In each
phase, students are actively engaged in leading the innovation
activities, guided by teachers.
Pre-Innovation Readiness Activities – Before the conducts of
Innovation Program: The Empowerment Technology teacher shall
prepare the students by conducting the implementing the (ICT-RPL)
Recognition of Prior Learning in, this is to gauge learner's knowledge
and skills and provide guidance in selecting Innovation project suited to
their individual and group level in ICT skills and understanding. During
the group composition guide the leaners to equalize spread of students
with beginner, average and advanced knowledge in ICT based on the
ICT-RPL Assessment.
Exploration phase: Students explore educational needs, gather
insights from peers and teachers, brainstorm creative ideas, and assess
their feasibility within the school environment. This could involve
conducting surveys, interviews, or focus groups with students and
teachers.
Conduct a brains storming activity of the pain points observed in
the school. Exercise shall help the student identify 3 problems and 3
possible ICT Innovation to resolve the problem which will help them
trim their options to the best innovation project and problem for the
group.
Include in the lesson for Week 6 the Types of surveys, instrument
creation, Types of interviews and preparing interview questions and
analyzing the data gathered.
Conceptualization phase: These ideas transform into concrete
concepts through collaboration with teachers and detailed project
planning.
The group is expected to create a project plans/matrix for ICT
innovations which will be submitted to the panelist on the Innovation
proposal as part of their output for this phase.
Once the projects are identified the teacher/ panelist shall help the
learner identify either a teacher or external expert to further support the
learners on their project.
Depending on the Projects identify a workshop in coding,
cybersecurity, basic programming, robotics, data analytics shall be
conducted to help other learners who may need the training.

Conduct assessment CITY,
after workshop to gauge the level of
understanding on how to apply the concept to their project.
Development and Testing phase: Students actively engage in
developing the prototype or the ICT innovations with teacher guidance,
ensuring quality, gathering feedback from fellow students, and
emphasizing data privacy and security. This could involve coding,
testing, and debugging the ICT innovations.
Students and teachers shall conduct simultaneous stress testing,
functionality testing, and debugging if needed. Only when the student
passes the simultaneous testing with their teacher shall be given a
clearance for final presentation of the Innovation Output to the
panelist.
The panelist shall identify the projects who are ready for pilot
testing and deployment to the intended project recipient or user.
Implementation and Scaling phase: Innovations are introduced in
the classroom, starting with a pilot deployment, followed by full-scale
implementation, teacher training, ongoing monitoring, and evaluation.
A checklist for deployment activities and monitoring shall be
provided to the project implementor to assess the success of the
implementation. The activity checklist shall include but not limited to
training the potential user, evaluation of performance, issues
encountered, and troubleshooting or adjustment made for the
innovations.
Post Innovation Activity: A reflection on the Innovation
experience and learning shall be submitted by the students as part of
the completion report. A Survey on conduct of the preparedness of
teacher and school as well as the effectiveness of the Innovation
framework shall be completed at the end of the program.
Performance Evaluation: Students shall be evaluated based on
the output submitted and skill demonstrated in each phase of
innovation framework which shall form part of their performance
tasks. Exploration Phase Output:
• Top 3 identified issues and Possible ICT based solution.
• Survey questionnaires and interview questions
Conceptualization Phase Output:
• ICT Innovation Plan/Matrix
• ICT Based Innovation Project Proposal Presentation
Development and Testing phase
• Simulated Project with Student and Teacher
• Final Presentation of the Innovation Project
Implementation and Scaling phase
Checklist for deployment and monitoring activities.
