    SCHOOL GOVERNANCE COUNCIL FIRST MEETING

    OVERVIEW:
    The concept of shared governance strengthens participatory decision-making
    that is motivated by the active involvement of school stakeholders. It is anchored by
    The Governance of Basic Education Act of 20O0l (RA 9155), which emphasizes that
    every unit in the education bureaucracy is accountable and responsible for the ongoing
    improvement of learning outcomes. per the information in DepEd Order No. 26. s.
    2022, which offers the implementation instructions for meetings. The SGC shall hold
    virtual or in-person meetings at the school premises' or in such places as may be
    determined by the Elected Co-Chairperson for safety or other valid reasons and
    scheduled at a time convenient for everyone' especially for the student representative.
    At the minimum, SGC meetings shall be held quarterly except for special meetings due
    to urgency.

    Through the initiative of the designated co-chairperson, Ms. April Diane M.


    Romero, and the elected co-chairperson, Mr. Isagani F. Nocus, we followed the
    guidelines mentioned in DepEd Order No. 26. S. 2022, the first meeting of the newly
    created school governance council was conducted in the Gulang-Gulang National High
    School-Domoit Extension training room on January 16, 2024, at 3:00 PM. Officers and
    council members attended the said activity.

    OBJECTIVE/S:
    The project aims to:
    1. Conduct the induction and oath-taking of newly elected officers and council
    members.

    2. Set schedules for the next SGC meetings.

    ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED:
    Since the time after the election is convenient for the officers and council
    members, the first meeting was held after the election. Mr. Isagani F. Nocus, the
    elected co-chairperson, calls the meeting into order, then the secretary, Rosalina
    Avila, calls the attendance and determines the availability of the quorum. Since the
    election was just held in the last hour, the quorum was attained.

    The meeting started with the induction and oath-taking of elected and
    designated officers and council members. It was facilitated by the school head, Mrs.
    Pelagia R. Regio. The council then decided that the next meeting would be on
    February 26, 2024, for the evaluation of existing school projects.

    Picture-taking is followed as a preparation for the creation of the


    organizational chart and the necessary reports and documentation.

    Members

    CURRENT STATUS:
    The first meeting of the GNHS-Domoit Extension SGC was a highly successful
    event because all of the objectives mentioned above were met. Induction of officers
    was conducted, and meeting dates were set.

    ACCOMPLISHMENTS/ISSUES/ CONCERNS:
    The following are the project's accomplishments:

    1. Conducted the induction and oath-taking of newly elected officers and


    council members.
    2. Scheduled the second meeting with school project evaluation as the
    agenda.

    The School Head Mrs. Pelagia R. Regio facilitated the oath-taking of elected and
    designated council members.

    Picture taking was conducted for the creation of the GNHS-Domoit Extension
    organizational chart.
