(Abelardo Hall ) were named in his honor and memory .


LUCIO SAN PEDRO
1913 - 2002
- came from a family of musicians

- composer , conductor and teacher

- taught all the major music conservatories in Manila

- retired as a full professor in 1978.

- on 1991, President Corazon C . Aquino proclaimed San

Pedro a National Artist of the Philippines for Music .


- died because of cardiac arrest at the age of 89

THE NATIONAL ARTIST AWARD - highest national recognition

given to a Filipino who have made significant to the development

of Philippine Arts . (music,dance,theatre, film , etc .)

edition of the Southeast Asian Games ," We Win as One "


- his late mother Celerina , an opera singer , told his

father not to allow any of her children to enter the

music industry

LEVI CELERIO
1910 - 2002
Filipino composer and lyricist who is credited to

writing not less than 4,000 love and folk songs .

Celerio was recognized as a National Artist of the

Philippines for Music and Literature in 1997.

He has unique talent of playing music with a leaf

and recognized by Guinness Book of Record as the

only man who could play music on leaf
