operationalizing the National Reading Program (NRP) during the first
half
of the day's schedule and on fostering Values, Health, and Peace
Education for the second half. Additionally, the Homeroom Guidance
Program (HGP) is also included in the Catch-up Fridays.

The Catch-Up Fridays First week of implementation was a resounding

success, achieving its objectives of addressing individual reading needs,
monitoring progress effectively, and fostering a love for reading. As we
reflect on this journey, it is evident that literacy is not just a skill to be
acquired but a gateway to personal growth, empowerment, and a
brighter future for all involved.

VFVMS forward-looking goal envisions the Reading Program as a

catalyst for transformative change, not only in individual lives but also
in the fabric of the community. By establishing a reading habit Drop
Everything and Read (DEAR) and implementing these strategic
objectives, we aim to create a sustainable and inclusive platform that
empowers generations to come, fostering a lifelong love for reading and
learning. Together, we will build a brighter future through the power of
literacy.
Insights During the implementation of Catch-Up Fridays (week 1), teachers
demonstrated unwavering dedication and support in infusing a variety of
engaging literary activities into the curriculum. Their collaborative
efforts played a pivotal role in cultivating a vibrant reading culture
among students. Participants, spanning across different age groups,
exhibited notable levels of involvement and excitement throughout the
extended program duration. They eagerly immersed themselves in
diverse reading-related activities, showcasing a genuine curiosity in
exploring various literary genres and themes. Particularly well-received
were the interactive sessions, where students actively participated in
thought-provoking discussions and captivating storytelling sessions. The
hands-on activities emerged as a highlight, sparking a tangible
enthusiasm among the participants as they delved deeper into the rich
tapestry of literature. The palpable fervor and eagerness displayed by the
students underscored the success of the extended program in kindling a
renewed passion for reading, laying the foundation for a generation of
enthusiastic and lifelong readers.
Agreements At the end of the activity, we anticipate that students will have delved
into an array of literary genres, actively participated in discussions, and
expanded their reading horizons by exploring genres they may not have
previously considered. Our expectation is that students will not only
discover a newfound appreciation for diverse genres and authors but also
become ambassadors for reading diversity within their community. The
enthusiasm witnessed during the interactive sessions throughout the
program serves as a testament to the participants' eagerness to
wholeheartedly embrace the joy of reading, underscoring the program's
success in instilling a passion for literature in our students.
